4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good
This game asks questions about the Marvel Universe, mostly the recent trend in movies, but also some questions about the actual comic books and popular characters in various franchises.

The questions are relatively easy, but if you're playing with other people, this is part of the fun, as you race to see who can shout out the answer first. The DVD game modes...

3.0 out of 5 stars meh?
Let me start off by stating that I am a fan of Marvel comics and the like. I am by far not an expert on their comics but do know their movies pretty well. While playing this game I expected it to focus more on the movies because of the nature of the game. Many of the "my" and "all plays" are based on the movies but on the other hand many of the cards are not. Some of...

This game asks questions about the Marvel Universe, mostly the recent trend in movies, but also some questions about the actual comic books and popular characters in various franchises.

The questions are relatively easy, but if you're playing with other people, this is part of the fun, as you race to see who can shout out the answer first. The DVD game modes are diverse and interesting, including clips, comic book covers, and other games based on either pictures or words (fill-in-the blank, scramble, etc.)

If you enjoy Scene It! (basically Trivial Pursuit with a DVD), then you'll like this game as well, as it is similar to other games in the franchise.

I have other "Scene It" games & love them. This one did not disappoint. It was given as a gift, but played soon after opening. Lots of great clips & great artwork for Marvel fans & Movie lovers alike. I would recommend this to anyone who loves trivia.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun game, but so much more Marvel has come out since, December 19, 2009
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:3.0 out of 5 stars

My son saved up for this game 2 or 3 years ago. At the time, the most recent Marvel movie to be included was the Fantastic Four, I believe. Since then, another F4 movie, 3rd Spider-Man, 3rd X-Men, Ghost Rider, Iron Man, new Hulk, Wolverine, several cartoons, and animated stuff, etc, etc, etc, has come out...and we know the movies aren't ending. I am sure there could be loads of other general questions, puzzles, etc. that could be done on the general comics. Overall, my boys and I like playing the game, but it's only drawback is that this feels dated knowing that so much more has come out. If Screenlife could, they would be smart to produce a booster pack every few years with some additional game cards, a DVD of new stuff (or old), and a couple new pawns to collect. I would buy that since I already own full game and whatnot. And if that is already out there, I hadn't SCENE IT yet!

BTW, my educational score on this is strictly aimed at learning about comics, which I think is a good link in today's popular culture.

Great gift for my son who enjoyed it very much. Like all Scene It games, it was fun for the entire family, although Mom and Dad didn't fare so well.

5.0 out of 5 stars rocking deal on amazon!!!, November 22, 2008

Let me say that I saw this exact same game for $50 this week at a toy store!!! When I saw this price on amazon, I HAD to buy it ASAP. What a great price. It's a gift for my brother for X-Mas, so I haven't opened the game yet - but I can say that the game isn't stored in a typical box, it's a really nice tin. Rock on, Amazon. (I chose standard shipping and got it in 3 days!)

I love the Scene-It series. These games are fun and interactive. The Marvel Scene-It is awesome!! Its really fun and I love the movie clips. The game is great, and you don't need to know that much about Marvel comics to have fun and even win. A must-have for any comics fan.

Some of the questions on the cards asked about details of specific comic issues which are near impossible for me to answer since the Marvel comic library is so vast and I have only read a small fraction of them. I also thought for this being the Deluxe edition the presentation was sub par even compared to the regular versions of Scene It? that I own like Disney 1 and 2 and Harry Potter. Although the tin case is cool, the dice are generic and ugly. Also the play pieces are kinda dumb because instead of being characters they are symbols like the X-Men and Fantastic 4. There also does not seem to be much though to the layout and overall look of the interactive disc. All-in-all I really enjoy Scene It? games but this one seems to be for the mega Marvel fanboy and not your average Marvel adventurer.

I am a big fan of the Scene It? games, but this one is not as well put together. You absolutely must have prior knowledge of the Marvel comics and films if you are going to have fun with this game.

Most of the questions have to do with a video clip of some kind, just like all these games. However, this one will then ask you a question that appears nowhere in the clip! A couple of examples-

We were shown a Spiderman clip with him fighting Doctor Octopus. Great clip. But then the question was how did Doc Ock's arms get fused to his body?! Another time we were shown a clip from the Fantastic Four movie where Reed and Sue are talking. The question then asked where the two of them went to college. This information was again not in the clip.

I have been very disappointed with this product. In a line of otherwise high quality Scene It? games, this one seems to have been put together by people who just didn't get the concept of the game.
