The boys have outdone themselves. The album is a nice mix of covers done to perfection and original songs that embody the grace and elegance that has become the hallmark of the "Scene". I wondered when they would have a new album and this is it. Well worth the wait.

I've been to see them 3 times this summer & plan @ least one more bluegrass fest where they are scheduled to appear, so you might say I'm an avid fan. Over the last several months they've polished up their act to a great degree...their harmonizing takes my breath away...& I'm looking so forward to their next CD. Meanwhile, I had to have this one & it does not disappoint.

My first exposure to this group was about 25 years ago in a small bar in the Washington D.C. area. I have been a fan ever since.

This CD does not disappoint! The instrumentals are still top shelf, the harmony and vocals are absorbing. For the blue grass / country fan, you have to add this group and this CD to your collection. Play it often and play it well! I crank mine up when ever I am working in the yard or driving in my car. Love it!!!!!

My loyalty to musicians has never been fanatical but the Seldom Scene once took me as far in that direction as I can recall - Scenechronized is quite competent but doesn't transport me in the way their old lineup used to do. Who knows, I might just have been a more excitable lad in those times.

I feel there was more variability in mood and styling in the earlier work. Just not enough edge or heart to distinguish the current group or its soloists. To be sure, I haven't been able to get past the loss of Duffey. Trying to put my finger on what characterized the new versus the old, the term "depth" occurs to me. Depth in terms of selected repertoire and in vocal timbre.

Hey, we all miss the two Johns, Tom and Mike but what band dose'nt have personal changes in a 30 some year live time. We SS fans are lucky we have a reasonable facsimile. Most would have broken up long ago. For none SS fans these guys are fantastic pickers and singers and stand up for the bands name no matter who came before.

This CD was purchased as a birthday gift for my husband. He is a tremendous Seldom Scene fan and the CD has been played over and over......
Just what we would expect from Seldom Scene. We recommend this CD highly if you are a fan.

Nope, sorry, it's not the same group anymore and I'm not talking names and faces. The harmony is not the same and the music is pretty slow and dreary on this one. I don't think they picked a very good bunch of songs for this album. I would rate this album as 'average bluegrass' from an average group. Play it for me without telling me who it was and I would rate it the same.

Sad to say but having been a fan for 30 years and possessing all of their albums (to my knowledge), I think I have bought my last album from the Seldom Scene.
