Great for teachers, not so much for serious actors,

This review is from: Scenes & Monologs from the Best New Plays (Paperback)
I use these books for my classes for beginning acting students to find performance and mock audition pieces. This is also a good resource to find out which full length plays may be worth reading. These are much better than those "just written as a free-standing piece" books because they are pulled from actual plays.
I would warn that serious actors shy away from these when looking for audition pieces because you run the risk of :showing up to the party in the same dress". |
