My 8 year old daughter, who is dog crazy, loves these books. She has read two and told me that if I ever see anymore, please get them for her for Christmas. I went on Amazon, and am delighted to have found four more in the series. These books have super cute illustrations sprinkled about every 3 -4 pages. Chapter sizes are great for a ten to fifteen minute read. Entire book is written from the dogs point of view. I enjoyed what I have heard her read aloud and I know my daughter would give these five stars. If you have a kid who loves dogs and is 7 to 9 years old or so, these are perfect!

A wonder light read,

This title is a step above the average mass market series. The storyline is well developed and characters are clearly drawn. This is #2 in the series. Rosie (a grey mutt) and Fritz (an easily frightened German Shephard) are now puppies with a home. They will be staying together for a few days while Fritz's family is caring for a relative. At the same time a "niece" arrives at Rosie's house for a few days. The niece has the usual smells "hard candy and bubble gum", but there is another smell. It seems to be stronger by her backpack. The puppies soon learn that it is the smell of trouble. Rosie needs to find out the source of the smell before the two puppies end up back at the pound. The story does have a formula happy ending. This is a good cross over to chapters book. The illustration are nicely done and add to the enjoyment of the reading. The book will be of interest for light summer reading, as well as discussion material for young readers.
