Beautiful but not practical,

This review is from: The Scented Home: Natural Recipes in the French Tradition (Hardcover)
This is a beautifully photographed book on the history of scent, nice, informative text. I was able to find most of the ingredients, such as orris root powder, in bulk at my local health food store, but unless you just enjoy experimenting it's much more economical to buy soap and incense than to make it from these recipes. I made a few things from this book, including the moist potpourri, but none of them really worked for me. Still, it was an interesting read.
