Maybe I am too critical of things, I do not know. I expect to be wow'd when buying a product of said quality. However, I am very disappointed in this product. Most people may not even think about this, but these little warmers can use quite a lot of electricity. The bulb is a 20 watt bulb that is supposed to melt the wax and give the room a refreshing feel. However, at 20 watts, it is burning more electricity than ANY other light bulb in my home. We use the non-mercury fluorescent bulbs. At 20 watts this is equal to bulb I might be using to run a 100 watt comparison bulb. Which we have a few 100 watt output - 20 watt bulbs. Now here is my problem with this warmer. You add 1-2 cubes of wax and turn the unit on. We had it on for over 2 hours and the wax had just barely started to melt. We could not even smell the scent yet. After 4 hours it was partially melted, and after a full days use, over 8 hours, it had finally fully melted and started to release its scent through out the room. By then we were heading off to bed and turned it off. We do not leave things like this on while we sleep, too dangerous. So I get up the next morning, thinking that it would only take 10-15 minutes to remelt the wax. I was dead wrong. Another 2 hours and finally wax melted again. So here we are... either the wax is too dense and does not melt quick enough, or the bulb does not heat up enough to do the trick. So we have this 20 watt bulb on for ALL day and we still did not get what we paid for, except a very pricy night light. So is it worth it if the put a bigger bulb in? If it works, sure. My wife has a warmer from Yankee Candle and it takes 20 min. to melt 3 cubes of wax from start. In 1/2 an hour we can smell the scent through out the room. The warmer plugs in, yet heats the surround of the wax.Read more ›
