I do location video production and was looking for a poor man's HD display (monitor). This is the only unit of its type (a consumer LCD TV--it's still an LCD even though its illuminated by LEDs) that has a comparatively fast response time (2 ms) to minimize pixel blurring with fast-moving objects or fast camera panning. But I miss having an S-Video input for older SD sources. The analog component input works for SD and HD and of course it has HDMI for all types of HD.

But its vertical angle of view is optimized for seeing from slightly above the top edge, like on a kitchen counter. So I highly recommend the Ergotron Neoflex LCD Stand to replace the supplied rigid non-tilting, non-rotating stand. This allows you to tilt the screen slightly down for the best picture. The Neoflex also has an adjustable instant counter-spring 5" height adjustment.

The sound quality and loudness is poor because the design only accommodates tiny speakers but there are several audio menu adjustments than can be made to help somewhat depending on the program content and room acoustics. And there are both digital and analog (headphones) outputs that can feed external audio units.

While the picture quality with its built-in ATSC tuner and from its various other source inputs is excellent (with almost no overscan, important for video production), as a TV this unit is not the best. This is the first and only time I have ever encountered a digital tuner that did not have a signal meter, either for strength or quality. This can be a real disadvantage if used with an antenna, especially an indoor one that has to be manipulated for optimum reception to receive the most channels.
