This TV has a 1280 x 768-pixel resolution and 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio for optimal viewing of high definition broadcasts and DVD movies. It also features a fast 16 ms (millisecond) response rate, 170-degree viewing angle, 500 cd/m2 (candela per square meter) brightness rating, and 600:1 contrast ratio. (The higher the contrast ratio, the greater a TV's ability to display subtle color details and not get washed out by ambient room light.) It offers compatibility with 1080i, 720p, 480p, 480i high definition formats.
The 3D Y/C digital comb filter constantly analyzes the three dimensions of picture height, picture width, and picture changes-over-time, to reduce dramatically edge image artifacts while improving transition detail. The 3:2 pulldown cinema video processing feature detects and compensates film--which is shot at 24 frames per second (fps) compared with video's 30 fps rate--to video for a smooth theater-like experience at home. Other TV features include picture-in-picture/picture-on-picture (PIP/POP) capability, NTSC/PAL/SECAM video compatibility, V-Chip parental controls, and an internal clock. It provides the following connections:

Flawed Engineering, Bad Website,
By
This review is from: Sceptre X30sv-Naga III 30" HD-Ready Flat-Panel LCD TV (Electronics)
There is an engineering problem with the sets ability to process remote signals. The remote isn't reliable. Everyone I know who has bought this TV has this same problem. The TV buzzes loudly while in standby. The display has minor fixed point noise. Otherwise a pretty good set if you can get it at a good price.Their website listed support and marketing emails addresses that bounced. Their support fained ignorance about the problems and their product manager didn't return phone calls.

Gone in 1 year,
This review is from: Sceptre X30sv-Naga III 30" HD-Ready Flat-Panel LCD TV (Electronics)
I have bought this product for 2004 Christmas. Vertical lines started appear by 2005 Christmas, and the picture is very much distorted. Unfortunately, this happened right after 1 year warranty period. I have called the customer service who told me that it may be the panel problem which may cost $1000 (when new ones are going for starting from $850). I will not recommend this product.

DO NOT BUY THIS TV,

This review is from: Sceptre X30sv-Naga III 30" HD-Ready Flat-Panel LCD TV (Electronics)
I bought this tv 2 years ago and the picture has gone out on it already. I have sound but no picture. Sceptre has told me I would probably need a new power inverter which would cost me $250.00 to have it fixed and that possibly that might not fix the problem. I see no reason for a tv that is supposed to be of this caliber to go out in only 2 years. They did respond to me quickly via email and by phone but this is totally unsatisfactory and they acted like it was normal. Do not buy this tv, it is definitely not worth the money. Buy another brand.
