Flawed Engineering, Bad Website, September 30, 2004
This review is from: Sceptre X30sv-Naga III 30" HD-Ready Flat-Panel LCD TV (Electronics)
There is an engineering problem with the sets ability to process remote signals. The remote isn't reliable. Everyone I know who has bought this TV has this same problem. The TV buzzes loudly while in standby. The display has minor fixed point noise. Otherwise a pretty good set if you can get it at a good price.
Their website listed support and marketing emails addresses that bounced. Their support fained ignorance about the problems and their product manager didn't return phone calls.

Gone in 1 year, January 5, 2006
This review is from: Sceptre X30sv-Naga III 30" HD-Ready Flat-Panel LCD TV (Electronics)
I have bought this product for 2004 Christmas. Vertical lines started appear by 2005 Christmas, and the picture is very much distorted. Unfortunately, this happened right after 1 year warranty period. I have called the customer service who told me that it may be the panel problem which may cost $1000 (when new ones are going for starting from $850). I will not recommend this product.

DO NOT BUY THIS TV, February 22, 2007
This review is from: Sceptre X30sv-Naga III 30" HD-Ready Flat-Panel LCD TV (Electronics)
I bought this tv 2 years ago and the picture has gone out on it already. I have sound but no picture. Sceptre has told me I would probably need a new power inverter which would cost me $250.00 to have it fixed and that possibly that might not fix the problem. I see no reason for a tv that is supposed to be of this caliber to go out in only 2 years. They did respond to me quickly via email and by phone but this is totally unsatisfactory and they acted like it was normal. Do not buy this tv, it is definitely not worth the money. Buy another brand.

IF YOU READ ANY REVIEWS, PLEASE READ THIS ONE, September 15, 2005

DO NOT BUT FROM SCEPTRE...I have purchased three of these 30 inch flat panel LCD TV's and all three have a ghosting image that is now very visable. This happened with in 10 month's time. When I tried to return the first two that went, Sceptre told me they would not exchange them and there is nothing can do. This was after several weeks of talking to them and I had to ship them back to their office at my expense. I have been dealing with different brands of audio/visual equipment for years and what I thought would be a good buy turned out to be $3,000 wasted. I looked at all the reviews at the time and many people gave them a good review. I am here to tell you that before you buy, please take one more look around. This maybe a good price, but the quality and customer service is not what it should be. This is from someone who bought three of them and they all went bad.

Decent picture quality, but aggravating to use, April 20, 2005
This review is from: Sceptre X30sv-Naga III 30" HD-Ready Flat-Panel LCD TV (Electronics)
I'm using as a computer monitor. It is not energy star compliant and cannot be set to power down when not in use: it has to be manually turned off. Everytime it powers up, picture starts flashing and source menu flashes on and off. It does this for up to 5 minutes. It is essentially unusable in that mode. For all practical purposes Sceptre does not have customer support: they respond to neither email or phone. Don't buy this tv unless you enjoy aggravation.

Been working for me for three years now, January 8, 2008
This review is from: Sceptre X30sv-Naga III 30" HD-Ready Flat-Panel LCD TV (Electronics)
I notice a lot of reviews for this set that say it started to fail after the warranty was over. I am sure that there are different results with different individual sets but mine has performed flawlessly for 3 years now.
The remote is a little odd, but the set is wonderful. I use it as a computer monitor and then switch to it for HDTV. I also have an older 42" Sony Plasma and I must say the picture on this set far outshines that one PFM42-b1

***WARNING*** DO NOT PURCHASE SCEPTRE ELECTRONICS ***WARNING***, March 20, 2006
This review is from: Sceptre X30sv-Naga III 30" HD-Ready Flat-Panel LCD TV (Electronics)
I purchased this TV (same exact model) from [...]
and it broke exactly one year and two months later. It had worked perfectly and I had been very pleased with this set for the entire time and the tv was kept in EXCELLENT condition the ENTIRE time. Like others who have written similar reviews of SCEPTRE products, I had seen great reviews from others who had purchased from them so I decided that for the price and high rated reviews I would go ahead and purchase one as well. It makes sense to me now that it is very probable that the majority (or more) of these people were probably in the same boat as I and had great success with this TV within the 1-year warranty period. I have contacted both Wal-Mart and SCEPTRE to express my concern and dismay at the quality of product they are selling but was immediately disregarded as if they did not even care. This review is not to bash WALMART or AMAZON.COM but to inform consumers that this definately seems to be a KNOWN recurring issue with SCEPTRE brand electronics and it only makes sense to put a bit more money into a BETTER NAME BRAND and have a much better chance of it actually lasting more than a year than to throw $800 - $1300 down the drain. I have payed much less for TV's in the past that have lasted 20-30 years or more. [...]

A stunnig picture at an eye popping price., April 19, 2005
This review is from: Sceptre X30sv-Naga III 30" HD-Ready Flat-Panel LCD TV (Electronics)
Overall I feel that you cannot go wrong with the X30SV. Is it the most advanced lcd display/tv on the market? No. Does it have a stunning picture that will leave you satisifed with your purchase? Yes.
I've done my homework on LCDTV's and felt that this was a solid choice. Boy was I right!
After poping in a DVD and hooking it up through DVI, I was a little disapointed that you loose picture shaping capabilities. You cannot change the pictures color/hue/focus/sharpness. All you can shape is brightness and contrast. I must say that not having picutre shaping capabilites leaves an image on the screen with something to be desired. Somewhat dull and lifeless.
After hooking it up through components though and changing the settings. All I can say is AWESOME! The picutres colors are bright and visually stunning. You wont be upset with this purchase for around $1000.00.
To be critical, you do see some pixelation occoring from time to time if look for it. Again, thats if you look for it. I dont get why people get all upset about the remote. ITS NOT THAT BAD PEOPLE! Remote works just fine for me.

DO NOT PURCHASE SCEPTRE BRAND,,,NO GOOD, September 21, 2010
This review is from: Sceptre X30sv-Naga III 30" HD-Ready Flat-Panel LCD TV (Electronics)
I purchase a 30 inch LCD X305V-NAGAIII, within a 1.5 years the power unit failed... The company wants more than 150.00 for a new power pack, which cannot be returned under any circumstances. A brand new T.V. should not fail so soon after purchase. DO NOT BUY THIS BRAND>>>
