The Amazon reviews were all pretty good, so I gave it a try. It arrived quickly, and the picture quality looked good. After using it for less than 1 week, the picture went completely black. The sound worked, but no picture. I searched for Sceptre Reviews, and found a major retail store that had over 100 reviews for this TV. I looked at the 1 star reviews, and saw at least 10 referencing the exact same problem. It must be a design flaw.

You might get lucky and get a good one, but I was not willing to risk sending mine back for repair. Thanks to Amazon for their great customer service. I sent it back and got a full refund!

Bought two of these TVs for the bedrooms. Paid $207 shipped for each one so the deal was incredible and it allows me to use it as a monitor as well as a TV so this is a great space saver when you combine it with a low profile wall mount.

Simple setup with HDMI inputs allowed for the TV to be up and running in no time at all. The 1080p image is clear and crisp. I have seen other 240hz 1080P TV's that don't match up in video quality. You do need to tweak the settings a bit to get the most out of the video but if you invest 3 minutes the image is a 8.5 out of 10 which is great for the price. The sound is the only downside as others have stated. I don't think that the sound would cut it in a larger living room but for a bedroom TV you really can't go wrong.

Very happy with my purchase so far!

I've had this about 3 months and couldn't be more pleased! Picture and Color are very good! The sound could be alittle better but for a bedroom TV its perfect. Then again the sound on all models and brands don't impress me. For a no name TV I took a chance with I'm pleased!

I just ordered one of these a week ago and quickly found that the TV had a loud hum in the 3.5mm (headphone) sound output. The replacement, received today, had the same problem. I tested the headphone jack on both TVs with multiple speaker sets and a headphone set.

Since I'd planned to use a set of Bose PC speakers with the TV, to overcome the reported poor built-in speakers, this was quite irritating. I can confirm that the built-in speakers did work, but were as poor quality as reported elsewhere.

When I received the original TV, the online 'chat' service person was unhelpful. But today, I reached a live Sceptre service person, who suggested using the RCA sound output instead. And, after buying the right cables ($6 here, but $12 at the local Radio Shack) it now works fine.

Obviously, if you don't plan to use the headphone output, this problem doesn't matter. But, if you do, be sure to ALSO order an RCA to 3.5mm female cable, along with the TV. If you buy at the same time as the TV, you can get the cable you need for $3 - $6.

A friend sent me the link to this TV during cyber monday week and I decided to take the plunge. I saw a few reviews talking about how the TV died shortly after they had received it, but figured for $180 and with Amazon's great return service, I would take the risk. I'm so glad I did!

I've had it for a week and it's going strong, so I'm not sure if some of Sceptre's TVs were made incorrectly but are still in stock at Amazon? I guess just be aware that there are "duds" out there, but in my personal case, it's working fine. The screen is typical of an LCD system: if there's a lot of light in the room, it can be a bit too reflective. However, I usually watch the TV in the dark so it's not an issue, and even with some lights on, it's hardly that detrimental. Certainly nothing to quibble over at this price point.

The 1080p is picture-perfect! I was a little hesitant about buying a TV online and not being able to preview the screen in store: as we all know, there are some TVs at 720p that look better than 1080p due to a variety of factors, so going to a brick and mortar can be helpful in choosing a set that meets customer standards. But there was no need to fear here, for the picture is clear and not too "digitized." I also have a 46" LG 1080p which out of the box required a lot of fiddling with picture quality settings to be watchable: the trigger sensing made all movies look ridiculous. Not so here. The TV also has a handy picture button on the remote, where one can cycle through power saving mode (the lowest light setting) to vivid for HD content. If I'm watching a BD, I set it to vivid; a DVD, power saving so that the up-converting isn't too obvious of lesser quality.

The one down side? The headphone jack doesn't work.

Greetings In December of 2013 I purchased a SceptreX325BV-FMDR 32” LED class 1080P HDTV from Walmart.com for $216.11. On November 3, 2014 the picture stopped working, though I had sound and followed all the technical suggestions from Sceptr's technical department, the picture never returned. Upon the instructions of Sceptr's representative and since the television was less than a year old, I requested return instructions for repair. The written communication stated that the RMA # 14B05008 was good for 15 days and that if I needed a box for the return, one would be provided. So, I requested a box that never arrived. I then called your technical support team again and was verbally informed that all printed documentation stated the RMA number was good for 15 days and that a box would be provided, that the current practice was not to send a box and allow the RMA number to be good for 3 months. I began to become very suspicious of the quality of Sceptre’s service, but I purchased a Uhaul Flat TV shipping kit for over $20.00 and sent the television via UPS at a cost of $56.29. When I contacted Sceptre's technical department to inform them to expect delivery on November 17, 2014 all the representative was concerned with was whether the box was insured or not. This was a definite red flag. I called on November 18, 2014 to confirm receipt and was informed that the television was received and currently being evaluated. Within minutes of the call I received an email stating that the TV was damaged in shipment was instructed to put in a claim with UPS.Read more ›
