5.0 out of 5 stars I LOVE THIS MASK!
I ride my bicycle to work and back (23 miles round trip) and in the mornings I start out at 6 AM, when it's around 30 degrees out. I wear this mask, a cycling jersey, arm warmers, cycling shorts or tights, and socks and shoes for clip ons.

This cycling mask reduces the runny nose by damn near 100%. I wear it just like the picture, with my nose covered. No...

3.0 out of 5 stars it's OK
If used as a first layer, it's very good. I dinged it a couple stars because the weather I used it in was at a football game in the low 40s. The breeze was very slight and I wore a cap over it and I felt a tinge of cool. The other ding is that my ears hurt from being bent I guess. Odd I didn't realize they were bent. My neck was nice and toasty and that was huge. I'll...

No problems at all with breathing. And because you don't have that awful fleece material inside, your mouth and nose never get uncomfortable. Perfect material. Lightweight, so it's no big deal if you're wearing it while the weather warms. Easy enough to pull down while riding if you want to spit. Easy enough to put on some sunglasses through the hole on the sides (though I don't ride that way, considering it's still dark when I ride in the morn).

If you're looking for something to shield your face, ears, nose from the cold and you don't want fleece innards, get this mask! I'm thinking about getting four more of these.

5.0 out of 5 stars Really comfortable..., August 22, 2007

Fast shipping and the product was exactly as the picture looked. The mask is made of lightweight material that is thick and stretchy making it more durable and comfortable than those cheap itchy ski mask. It keeps my face nice and warm.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good product, October 31, 2007

It arrived remarkably fast and the flatseam sewing makes it ideal for wearing under my motorcycle helmet. The material also prevents breath moisture from accumulating too much.

Out of the seven choices listed for this product, one is listed as coolskin and one as warmskin, one is listed as deluxe, and the others are just listed as colors. From the photos, it looks like all of the ones just listed as colors are coolskin, but it doesn't say. I bought both the coolskin and warmskin. I have no idea what the deluxe is. I was charged a flat rate for shipping ($6.28) for both of them, so buying multiple ones at a time makes more sense. Both of the ones I bought are black, and the seam isn't noticeable at all to others, like the lighter colors would be, per the online photos. The black ones also make you look like a ninja, which is cool.

The warmskin is thicker than the coolskin, meaning it will keep you warmer. The thickness also makes it harder to put on, as you can't easily move it around on your head. It's not stretchy, and is a tight fit for me, with the 7-1/2 size melon. But it wasn't uncomfortable.

The coolskin easily slips on, like the Spider-man mask in the movies. It is very stretchy and comfortable, more comfortable than the warmskin. But the coolskin also has the vertical seam rubbing against your lips. The seam also goes along the top of your head vertically, but you don't notice that wearing it like you do at your mouth. I tried flipping it inside-out, and it was basically the same problem regardless. The warmskin has no seam rubbing against your mouth, as it is covered by the inside liner. But the coolskin seam isn't a big deal.

Both the warmskin and the coolskin can be pulled down past your chin, in case you don't want your nose and mouth covered, and they retain their shape well when put back over your nose.

I took off one star for the warmskin because of the tight fit, and one star off for the coolskin because of the seam, but overall, I really like these products, and I recommend them. I bought them so I could ride my bike in the winter without having to readjust the bike helmet straps, and they are what I was looking for.

Great Balaclava!
It is a nice and stretchy material and thin so it can go under your helmet easily.
I only wish is was a little thicker to provide more warmth as I ride with an open face helmet in 10-30 degrees F. But overall it rocks.

I bought this for those cold mornings and it makes all the difference. Despite being thin it blocks a surprising amount of wind and keeps the warmth in. It fits nicely under a helmet (thin, no painful seams) and has the added benefit of making the helmet go on and off that much easier. It also helps cut down on breath moisture accumulating on your visor.

Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Black Balaclava, December 20, 2008

This is a great product, and it arrived very quickly. I like it because moisture doesn't build up around the mouth and nose from breathing. It is very comfortable and non-irritable, and it fits great.

This balaclava was ordered for my son who plays outdoor roller hockey and who also cycles. Where he lives, it is very cold so he asked for this product to help keep him warmer. It arrived promptly and my son is happy with it. It is breathable yet keeps him warm for his outside activities.

The only issue is that I wish the neck was a little longer. I really dont have a long neck but sometimes it rides up exposing you adams apple to the wind.
