Concise but thorough review of Anatomy and Physiology,
By A Customer
This review is from: Schaum's Outline of Human Anatomy and Physiology (Paperback)
This book is great if you don't like reading long textbooks. It's easy to read and makes Anatomy and Physiology more interesting. I was recommended this book from a friend who used this book and another study guide and got over a 90 average. The other two books I highly recommend are the following:Anatomy and Physiology Study Guide: Key Review Questions and Answers (Vol 1) ISBN: 0971999619 Anatomy and Physiology Study Guide: Key Review Questions and Answers (Vol 2) ISBN: 0971999627 The last two study guide showed me the kind of questions I saw on my college exams. My friend was right. I used these 3 books and also got an "A" in my college A and P class.

The Best A & P Study Guide,
By
This review is from: Schaum's Outline of Human Anatomy and Physiology (Paperback)
Do you want an "A" and still have a life? Then buy this book. I've gotten A's from my first two A&P classes because of it. I have no science background. The assigned textbook is so huge I avoid looking at it as much as possible. Instead, I rely on my lecture notes and Schaum's when ever I can. Yes, there are times I am forced to use my assigned text, but there are plenty of times when Schaum's covers the point without wasting my time, and highlights important concepts as well. So do yourself a favor and buy this Outline...unless you like the idea of going blind over a 50 pound tome while your social life withers and dies from neglect.

FABULOUS! Exactly what you want!,

Truly a great find! I use it to review for my midterms and finals with great results. Really feel it has kept my B+ average from sliding. Concise, to the point, and all the best parts of my text book in 10 pages or less, per chapter. Fully solved exercises could be a bit more extensive (only 6-8 multiple choice questions per chapter) but I won't look this gift horse in the mouth. Giving this to my friend who is one quarter behind me, with my full recommendation.

Covers everything pretty well,
This review is from: Schaum's Outline of Human Anatomy and Physiology (Paperback)
I have to disagree with the review that said this book was for beginners. It's certainly not although no study guide is going to touch what your course book has in regards to information. It is very good at hitting all the main points and explaining them in very easy to understand language. It is definetely more in depth then some of the other guides out there. I used this guide a long side my text and class notes and easily got an A in A+P. PLEASE REMEMBER it's JUST A GUIDE. It's like CLIFF NOTES for a textbook. You won't get EVERYTHING FROM A STUDY GUIDE

The Schaum's book is an excellent review for anatomy and physiology. The book really kept me focused on the important aspects of anatomy to cover while reading and reviewing my class notes. I would really recommend this book to anyone taking any kind of anatomy and physiology based course. Everything about this book is just wonderful.

The title is right,

If you are looking for a book that only stresses the main points of human anatomy and physiology, this is the right book. But if you are looking for in-depth study of this topic, then buy a textbook. The book's title is what the book is about: an OUTLINE of human anatomy and physiology. It has everything you need to know about A&P without carrying a whole textbook. It's compact and fits in any backpacks. Best of all, this book is easy-to-read & understand and there are no spelling mistakes, so I guaranteed you'll do fine if you know learn everything from this book. (sigh) I wish I know this book when it first came out.

Good Study Guide,
This review is from: Schaum's Outline of Human Anatomy and Physiology (Paperback)
I actually like the study guide. It very straight to the point. The only thing I dislike about the book is the chapter review question - multiple choice question with the answer listed right after the question. Other than that, it's OK for a quick review.

Unacceptable mistakes,
By AntonK (SK, CANADA) - See all my reviews

For such a well-acclaimed book, it is frustrating to see authors' poor understanding of chemistry basics. Contrary to what the authors say, the ionic bond is not weaker than the covalent bond, which is proven by the same authors in the very next sentence after the erroneous statement, where they mention higher melting point of NaCl.
Page 26 takes it even further. To say that the "mole" is a unit of weight may be excusable for a freshman who does not still have a grasp of chemistry basics, but for two full professors... it is nothing less than an unjustifiable blunder, furthermore aggravated by its confusing power due to being uttered by authority of such a rank.
