Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Schaum's Outline of Programming with Structured BASIC (Paperback)
I was inspired by my collegue when I saw him writing a program based on Visual Basic for some application in our lab (and I am not CS student). And I decided to start learning the Basic language from the very beginning, and was advised to start with very basic principles, which led me to the purchase of this book.

I bought this book from amazon for $0.46 plus shipping. Not because of the price, but because of the quality of the information provided in it and because of my satisfaction in fast and easy learning of the language with the help of this book I decided to rate it with 5 stars. Usually people rate books with lower stars because of typo errors. Personally, I think that if typos are present in text, it is OK; however if it is in programs within examples that may quite be frustrating. But while reading this book I have found neither so far.

I do strongly recommend this book to whoever is a beginner in BASIC programming, and wants to learn the language from the scratch. Thus this may seem too easy for professional programmers, however there are quite few examples with fairly complex structure which can be challenging for even an experienced programmer. Thanks to Dr. Gottfried for such an excellent textbook!
