5.0 out of 5 stars Lifesaver!, March 27, 2000
This review is from: Schaum's Quick Guide to Writing Great Research Papers (Quick Guides) (Paperback)
This book is a must for any level college student. I was recently shopping for a book that would give me some pointers for completing a research paper for grad school. Let me be the first to say...It is a Gem! It has become my bible.

4.0 out of 5 stars Straight and to the point, March 6, 2009
Apologize up front for any grammatical errors contained in this review...it's late and I'm working on my thesis...:)But I had to give kudos!

Well, for me, this was the perfect resource! I am writing my first Master's thesis and I just needed to understand the basics (ie. structure, layout, approach...etc). I already know how to write, I already understand the process of getting your topic approved, selecting a review board, how frustrating writing is....I didn't need a book that went on and on for pages about the difficulties and challenges of writing a thesis or a dissertation. I get it! Most books I found on this topic just seemed designed to help relieve the reader from the anxieties of the process, a "How to cope," if you will.

After reading this book, I was equipped with what I needed to get started and build the framework for my paper. I'm no longer staring at a blank page and a blinking cursor. It helped me structure my thoughts, creating a sound foundation on which I can build. Other books I've reviewed read like a self help book, with only a few chapters dedicated to explaining the nuts and bolts of a thesis paper. If you don't need an emotional support system supplied to you through a book, this is your source. With that said, this book is very basic and, I'm sure I will utilize other sources along the way but, for the most part, this book has provided me with 80% of what I need to know. Thank you Laurie Rozakis for keeping it simple and to the point! (Unlike this review.)

Now back to writing, writing, writing....

This review is from: Schaum's Quick Guide to Writing Great Research Papers (Quick Guides) (Paperback)
This book is very helpful in describing the research form. The samples used were also helpful in elaborating further on each topic. I found the book easy to read and gets straight to the point. The book doesn't waste your time.
