A word about the Schecter C1 series. I believe C1 refers to the body/head style - somewhat in the Strat family, with Les Paul hardware features. There's a wide variety of styles called Schecter C-1 - perhaps too wide. So where does this one fit in? Basically, it's a Schecter C-1 Classic, without the vine inlayed neck. This particular model is made only for Amazon and only in this one color, Antique Amber. I think "Professional" means you could show up with it at a wedding and not look like you're going to segue from "Tender Love Ballad #34" into "Tonight I'm Gonna Rock You Tonight". In any case, the Antique Amber in person is bold, but not tacky.

The main selling point (on paper) of this particular model are the nice pickups. Seymour Duncan JB and '59, which give you a very wide range of tones. These are very powerful pickups - maybe too much so for a 4" practice amp. But the secret mojo of this guitar is that by pulling the tone pot you can turn the pickups into single coils. I thought this was just a gimmick, but they really do sound entirely different and very nice as single coils. So, it's like having 4 pickups. Tone possibilities galore.

However, having spent 2 days playing this thing until I'm actually developing an arthritic condition in my fingertips, I have to say the selling point is truly the neck. It's so narrow I can't believe it. Literally. I keep pulling the guitar away from my body to check out the neck...it doesn't look anywhere near as narrow as it feels under your fingers. I suspect it's shapeshifting somehow. Yet the narrowness doesn't make you feel congested or claustrophic. Perhaps comfortable is a better word than just narrow. It keeps saying "play me more" and you say "no, I need to sleep" but it wins anyway.

I picked this up from a friend who got it in the lightning round. What a bargain! This axe plays great. Feels great. And has gobs and gobs of tone. The neck is fast and the perfect radius. I have another c1 hellraiser diamond from S Korea that is quite a bit thicker than this neck is. I'd argue this one may be the better guitar, even if it is made in Indonesia.
The tone push/pull pot is neat. I've never had a single-coil capable humbucker before so it's opening up whole new tonal arrays.

At the end of the day, at the price point, nothing else competes. Nothing.
Nothing at this price comes with 'aftermarket' pickups... and KILLER ones at that.
Most are basswood, not mohag. and most don't have a maple neck. Or GOOD tuning pegs. This does.

Find a better bang for the buck? Let me know because I'll buy that one too!

Update, i made a little vid to demo this item. It's available on the 'tube under watch?v=BNTMESei5ag

I own way too many guitars and stringed instruments in general but when I saw this guitar on an hourly deal I figured I'd give it a shot. My collection includes all the standards, Gibson, Fender, Taylor, Martin etc.... and many lesser known guitars. I am not a virtuoso by any means, have to say I collect better than I play but I am servicable. I read some very good reviews on this guitar and am adding another one. Beatiful in appearance and exceptional playability. I have been having fun with this guitar since I received it. I play it through a Roland Cube amp and it sounds stage worthy! Great sustain, well tuned neck from top to bottom. If I wanted to malke a friend happy I'd gift them this guitar because the value can not be topped.

I have 5 guitars, all of them Schecters. For the money, I don't think you can beat them. This guitar is, in my opinion, an exceptional value for the money. This thing is solid. You can feel a difference between this and other Schecter guitars when you hold it. The neck is thicker, and it simply feels like a well built instrument. The sound coming from this guitar is sweet too. I play it thought my DR-880 using COSM, or through my BR-1600, again using COSM, and the guitar sounds amazing. I plug it into my Line-6 and select a tone and away I go. I am amazed at how this thing sounds. And, to top it all off, it is absolutely beautiful.

You can read the other reviews which go into solid detail but all I cay say is: What a NICE guitar for the money!! I own several other Strats, acoustics, classics, etc. and this is every bit as nice. The price was incredible so I couldn't resist. I find myself playing this thing for hours and seem to lose track of time... that's how nice the action and playability are. I've come to really love the switched pickups.

I bought this and was a little skeptical, but after reading the reviews, I decided to give it a shot. I played guitar for years, but took an extended leave of absence, so I needed something cheap to get me back in the game. I have never played a Schecter before, so this was my first experience with this brand.

I have had this guitar for about a month now, and I could not be happier. As others have commented, the guitar is solid and feel extremely durable. In addition, it comes with great pick ups, tuners, nut, and is a solid instrument. The action was great when it arrived and has been a real nice guitar to play.

I pick this thing up and can't seem to put it down. The color scheme is a little over the top for me, as I like something a little more mellow, but I get compliments on it from everyone that sees it.

If you are looking for a nice guitar at a great price, this is the guitar for you. Be sure to wait and watch the price at it seems to fluctuate often. You can pick it up for an unbelievable price.

You will not find this guitar listed on the Schecter website unless you search for it. It's a special edition made specifically for Amazon.com.

Overall I am extremely pleased with my purchase and would recommend it to anyone looking for a new guitar.
