This bass is perfect except that I had to replace the strings cos I prefer a 5-string bass with a high C instead of a low B.

This is not what I was expecting. I've bought low end and high end schecters before and I wasn't expecting that the C-5 would fail this miserably. Don't get me wrong... I love Schecter and will buy nothing else, but the quality of the C-5 pales in comparison to my Squire Infinity which I purchased for less than the C-5. The fit and feel of the C-5 is excellent but the pickups suck tremendously. Tone and loudness are not even across all strings. So the C-5 feels like a schecter, and looks like a schecter; the action is low and fast like a schecter but it does not sound like a schecter. There are other guitars in this price range that sound much better. I'm in the process of switching out the pickups to replace them with a set of Seymour Duncan. I'm sure these will work fine. Buy this guitar for someone who is not sure whether they want to play bass. But if you can play bass and want a quality made schecter make sure you pay for one in the $400 and up range. Otherwise the Schecter C-5 will be a complete disappointment.
