I am changing my original review from a 3 star to a 5 star. After playing it for a couple months, I realize how much better the active pickups are than my EMG-HZ passive pickups. The sound is much clearer and very powerful! Plus that extra string gives it a deeper "metal" tone. All in all this is a great investment on an amazing guitar! The shipping was faster than expected as well!

Crunchy sound and lots of gain, great for metal, might be too aggressive for none-metal solid with high quality output. totally love schecter guitars!

This guitar screams with the EMG 81-85 set up, the only downside was that the fretboard was slightly off (causing the low B, which I of course downtuned to A, to buzz quite a bit from the fret and up [lower in pitch]). It costs a lot to sand the whole thing down to get it right, so I just adjusted the trust rod a bit and it is good to go. The neck is like butter, the weight is spot on for my preference, not too light, not too heavy on either end. You can beat it hard like a good guitar.
