The RIOT-5 is a five-stringer featuring neck-thru construction for endless sustain and a swamp ash body for brilliant resonance and definition. Dial in your tone with the EMG-40HZ pickups and Active 2-band EQ (complete with selectable frequencies). Solid Schecter hardware completes the package. Swamp Ash Body With Solid Burl Maple Top
The RIOT-5's Swamp Ash body gives you an extra-resonant tone with crystal-clear highs, well-defined mids, and powerful lows. The burl maple top is beautifully textured (hence the natural finish), and compresses that tone just a bit. Extra smoothness and sustain is imparted by the neck-thru-body design.

The RIOT-5's neck is a multi-laminate maple and walnut, 35-inch scale neck with a rosewood fingerboard and 24 jumbo frets. The "Ultra Access" design means you can actually reach those last few notes if you need them.

EMG-40HZ Pickups
The EMG-40HZ is a passive model with a dual-coil design for low noise and plenty of output. Using EMG's "CS" design (Ceramic and Steel), the pickup's tone is much warmer as a result of the higher inductance of the steel, and thus has a smoother attack and a flatter high end. From classic rock to heavy metal, this pickup performs.

Use the EMG Active 2-band EQ with selectable frequencies and blend between the neck and bridge pickup for further versatility, and dial in your tone just right for any application.

Black Chrome Hardware
The black chrome hardware completes the RIOT-5 package, with Schecter tuners, pots, and a custom string-thru-body bridge.

Graph Tech "Tusq" Nut
The precision Tusq nut is made with Graph Tech's "man made ivory," which couples the strings' vibrations to the neck and is impregnated with Teflon to improve the tuning performance of your guitar. Play as hard as you want and stay in tune. The highly resonant material also means you'll get more richness and harmonics from every note.

I just purchased the Riot-5 bass Burl Maple from Amazon, upgrading from another Schecter 5-string bass. I was pleasantly surprised at the look of the wood grain as I've since had many compliments on how good the guitar looks. Has great sustain with the neck-thru body construction....the neck has a great feel (a little wider feel than my C-5). Electronics are very nice - I've since learned that you can adjust the frequencies controlled by the bass knob to suit your taste by adjusting dip switches under the cover plate. OVERALL: A great looking and great sounding bass guitar with a very nice feel.

This bass is a definite keeper! The looks are great with the burled maple top and the way the body is carved. It also has a great feel due to the matte satin finish which makes the neck play like a dream! The looks are enhanced by the smoky gray hardware.
The only thing that stops me from giving this bass 5 stars is its sound. Not that the bass sounds bad, its just that the preamp doesnt add quite enough volume. Obviously you can fix this on the amp but I just found the volume to lag a little behind my other basses.
