My friend always wanted me to use his Gibson les paul to play on stage, I didn't want to hurt his feelings but the truth was that I really hated playing that bulky hunk of wood; I guess they were awsome when they first came out back in the fifties but now this schecter solo is the best improvement to the classic les paul so far.
I love everything about it specialy the sound, the fact that it is a lot lighter than a gibson and a whole lot more
affordable, and don't even get me started on the looks, Its even better when you have it. If you are looking for a colectibles item, by all means get a Gibson, but if you are actually going to be playing, just get this guitar.

WOW!!!! I got this guitar like a month ago, i waited to rehearse and play live with it to review it and WOW!!! It's soooo amazing… I wanted a Gibson Les Paul but i don't have that kind of money nor did i wanted to have a 2k$ guitar on the streets… well, i did my homework and checked EVERY les paul inspired guitar. This was the winner after a year of window shopping. And let me tell you, i did it right, it's so great. First the looks, wow! Is so impressive the finish, the color is like a red burst, the details, amazing. The components are a great part of my decision. The Pickups? Seymour Duncans, the SH11 on the bridge is soooo amazing, FFFAAATTT, it could be so strong and soo delicate too, it can roar and it can purr.. sweet sounds, and the 59 on the neck is awesome too.. one of the most famous and used pickups. By the way, the custom custom sh11 (bridge) has alnico2 magnets like those on the slash's pickups, so the highs are not so icepick harsh, the high are a little softer and mellow wich is great for distortion, it doesn't get so harsh. I love it. This mean i'll never will have to change pickups. Next, the tuners, LOCKING TUNERS!!! i havn't tuned this guitar in a month!!! I don't have to tune the guitar after every song, i rehearsed all night without having to tune it. That's so amazing. The NUT is TUSK!!! another cool point. It IS heavy like a LES PAUL, OHHHH BUT SUSTAAAAAAIIIIIINNNNN GOES FOR AGEEESS!!! the SUSTAIN is so amazing, I love this guitar. My bandmates LOVE THIS GUITAR they say i never sounded better. OH AND WAIT THERE'S MORE!!! The pickups can be coil split with the pull of the tone knob. VERSATILITY!!! I no longer need to carry around my strat… THIS GUITAR DOES IT ALL!!! On for the price is a STEAL!!! You can NOT find a better deal for this price. It's AMAZING. Thank you SCHECTER!!! Thank you.

I'm going to start off by saying that I own a 2005 Schecter C-1 Classic and a 2006 Schecter Hellraiser C-1 FR and both of them are superb guitars (particularly the Hellraiser). Both of them have top notch quality and parts. Having said that, I ordered the Solo 6 Custom expecting another great guitar. I was disappointed when I received it. The quality of Schecter guitars has apparently gone down hill over the last few years. The finish had flaws in it (nothing terrible, just a few bubbles here and there). The "locking tuners" (generic off brand, not Grover like they used to use) on it are a joke, bend a string once and the guitar is out of tune. Even when the guitar is tuned, it sounds out of tune. I gave up on intonation after about an hour of messing with it. Tone is in the ear of the beholder, but this guitar just doesn't sound good to me.
The case that I ordered with it is absolute garbage. Every material used is cheap and flimsy. The Schecter cases I have for the C-1 Classic and Hellraiser are MUCH better quality than the new one. Also, a few years ago, a case would have been included with a guitar in this price range. Not anymore, it cost an extra $100 for the junky thing. I sent the guitar and case back after two days.
This is the second junky Schecter guitar I've bought in the last year. The last one was the Royal acoustic. Check out reviews on the that Chinese hunk of firewood.
It seems like Schecter is cutting a lot of corners at the customers expense in order to maximize profit. I'm done with them and I wrote them a letter telling them that too. I recommend if you're interested in a Schecter guitar, at least go to a music store in person and try before you buy.
