Sarah-Jane Bedwell is a registered dietitian, national speaker, and media personality. Sarah-Jane's mission is to help people achieve a higher quality of life through food and nutrition. As the official food and nutrition blogger for SELF Magazine, a national women's health and fitness magazine, she has a valuable platform in which she can share the information that she is both knowledgeable and passionate about.

Sarah-Jane graduated magna cum laude with a major in dietetics and minor in exercise science from Harding University. Sarah-Jane completed her dietetic internship, with an emphasis on Medical Nutrition Therapy at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Sarah-Jane serves as a consultant for the food and beverage industry, with clients including CLIF Bar and Company, Welch's, National Cattlemen's Beef Association, Wal-Mart, and Grapes from California.

Sarah-Jane has appeared on all the major Nashville news station affiliate channels, and regularly does upbeat nutrition-related segments. Since April of 2012, she has regularly appeared nationally on NBC's TODAY Show. She currently serves as a media spokesperson for the Tennessee Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and was recently selected to win the 2013 Media Excellence Award by the National Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Sarah-Jane's first book, "Schedule Me Skinny: Plan to Lose Weight and Keep it Off in Just 30 Minutes a Week," will be released in January 2014.

Sarah-Jane has been fortunate enough to travel around the world experiencing other cultures and cuisine. She studied abroad for a semester during college in the Tuscany region of Florence, Italy, as well as traveling all over Europe, to Argentina, central America, and the Caribbean, just to name a few. All of these experiences have shaped Sarah-Jane's approach to food and healthy eating and inspired her to become a self-taught foodie and to experiment in the kitchen, where she fuses the Southern food of her roots with the healthy knowledge from her profession. In her free time, Sarah-Jane enjoys going for long runs (she's completed 4 marathons!), cooking meals with her husband Joe, and walking her two dogs, Inky and Buddy.

Sarah-Jane does a great job of making healthy eating practical for busy women. I, myself, own my company, am a mother and wife, and just want to be healthy. This book is full of great tips and tricks for today's woman. I love practicality and this book gave it to me. It also did a great job of explaining (in terms I could understand) what my body needs and when it needs it. You'll love this easy read!

This book is great! I have an extremely hectic schedule and I work hard to be healthy. Schedule Me Skinny is packed with helpful tips and tools-- grab-and-go recipes & some even using just items that happen to be in your pantry! Plust shopping lists are already done for you, so it definitely makes eating healthy easy! One of my favorite tips from the book is "Your metabolism is like a fire, if you don't put wood on a fire it will eventually burn out. Likewise, if we fail to fuel or metabolism with healthy foods, it will begin to burn out as well. That's why it is so important not to skip meals and eat consistently throughout the day." That makes great sense! I highly recommend this book.

I loved reading this book! It was truly an eye opener into the world of planning and nutrition. It is great information if you are trying to loss weight or simply be a healthier you. The tips are practical and well thought-out to make it easy for you to loose weight and be healthy without being deprived. The philosophy make calories count, don't count the calories is truly a philosophy and lifestyle that can be lived by. I'm actually planning a breakfast for my mom and dad on Saturday based on the meal planning principles I learned in this book. I'm so excited! My favorite suggestion from this book is something that I am trying to practice in my everyday life and that is mindful eating. Its not just important what you eat, but how you eat it can really make a difference. I'm trying to be a healthier and less stressed person using mindfulness in other areas of my life so it was great to see it here! Great book!

My wife has seen her on several shows and liked her attitude and presentation. After reading the book she is an even bigger fan. Good material with a solid presentation from registered dietician. That was important to my wife as so many of these books being written are by people with no background or education in nutrition who write books based on anecdotal data of questionable origin. Serious about losing weight and serious about eating healthier. Read this book
