It's a sort of stereolab side project, from what I understand, and it sounds like it. I didn't even know of the project and found the cd by chance. Quite good, though.

space rock band hovercraft team up with mary hansen of stereolab to create an odd mix of the two groups. hovercraft tone down their jammy bits to fit better with hansen's pop orientation, resulting in a spacey rock sound with heavenly vocals and just enough pop sense to make sense.
unfortunately, mary hansen would die in a bicycle accident shortly after the release of this brief cd, leaving us with just a glimpse of the greatness she could have achieved with this band. (trivia: hovercraft's bassist is married to eddie vedder) |
