This review is from: Schenectady (Images of America: New York) (Paperback)
This book represents an impressive collection of hard to find photos of the area, each with enough text to place it in context. It is essentially a scrapbook, filled with photos which capture a moment in the local history.
What it is NOT is an illustrated narative, with a greater emphasis on details. For that I recommend the series of books by the late historian Larry Hart. For anyone interested in capturing the feel of the city, this "images" volume is great by itself or as an addition to the Hart series. |
