4.0 out of 5 stars So Far, So Good
I didn't really need a new razor; my Mach 3 was more or less doing the job. But I saw a good sale on this one and thought "what the heck, maybe there is actually something to this power gimmick." Well it's only been a few weeks but the initial results are good. For whatever reason, I've had very few nicks and cuts, and it honestly seems to be a more comfortable shave...

1.0 out of 5 stars =I dare say this company wants to get rid of its current customer base!! I vote 0 stars for an empty expensive gimmick.
For one thing, I'm glad I got it on sale... unfortunately I lost the receipt...

There was no improvement AT ALL with the vibrating head. That alone makes the handle a pointless gimmick.

If you have stylized sideburns or areas that require even a half-millimeter's length of precision, don't bother with this cheap toy. It won't get close at all...

Well it's only been a few weeks but the initial results are good. For whatever reason, I've had very few nicks and cuts, and it honestly seems to be a more comfortable shave. I'd still like to see how it does at some other lengths of stubble, but as it stands I'm very happy with the purchase. One word of caution, I believe the replacement cartridges might be the most expensive out there.

I bought one of these razors when they first came to market (about 3-4 years ago) and it's still going strong. The battery lasts a really long time and I have only had to replace mine once. I used to own a Mach3 with the vibrating head and it didn't last six months before it stopped working.

5.0 out of 5 stars !!Excelent!!, October 15, 2009

I just bought this razor, its great!! Great Smooth shave, very close.
I read on the other reviews that Gillete razors dont last long, and I believe it, because I have used them before.

Also the refills dont cost that much, and you can use any Quattro on any Quattro machines.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best shave EVER, August 19, 2009
This review is from: Schick Quattro Power Razor (Health and Beauty)
I have been using my one and only Schick Quatro power razor for over 2 years..still with the same battery. This is the SMOOTHEST shave I have ever had, and let me add...I've had NO nicks. A big surprise is how long the razor blades last. I have used it without the power on (forgot to click it on) and it works just fine. I cannot imagine anyone complaining about this product. In my opinion, this is the very best Razor that Schick has ever had. I have given it as gifts to several of my friends (male & female)along with an extra supply of razor blades...all of them have been delighted, and raved about it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Product - better than Gillette Match 3, April 5, 2009
This review is from: Schick Quattro Power Razor (Health and Beauty)
I got this one as a gift, I tried and love it from the first shaved. The blades are very durable, and I like the feeling.

I have used Gillette Match 3 for more than 10 years. The cartridges are not durable and somehow I do not like the shaving feeling anymore. I have a tough beard, but I think they changed something a few years ago... I do not get a nice shave with it anymore.

I have to say I like Schick Quattro a lot better. I used Schick Xtreme 3 Triple Blade many years ago, it did not work at all. I was amazed by the difference.

I was not sure about the "Power" but it seems to work and the battery last very long, I have been using it daily for 8 months now with the same battery. In this time I have used 3 cartridges. (I just changed and placed the fourth one this morning)

Additionally, its price is very good

4.0 out of 5 stars Impressive, April 10, 2008
By
This review is from: Schick Quattro Power Razor (Health and Beauty)
When this was introduced, I thought it was a useless gimmick and refused to buy it. Surely this was a ploy by Schick's parent company Energizer to sell more batteries. And I'd given up on batteries back when my last rechargeable electric razor stopped holding a charge. But the last time I needed razor refills, the Schick was on sale. It included four refills, so worst case, I figured I run through the four blades and if it didn't work, I could toss the handle after I was done and it would have cost me about the same as if I'd just bought refills.

I tried it and was impressed. My beard is tough to cut, so even Gillette's Mach 3 and Schick's Xtreme 3 always left a millimeter or so of stubble that I could feel. Not so with the Quattro Power. The vibration seemed to simultaneously saw off the hairs with almost no effort (sort of like a tiny electric knife) while letting the blades glide over the skin with minimal drag the way a vibrating cell phone can make its way down a table that's even slightly tilted. The stubble that always remained with regular razors is gone; not quite smooth as a baby's bottom, but close. The handle has some good weight to it and is comfortable to hold, although it feels a little bulky. Battery replacement is a snap and takes seconds. I'm not sure the safety wires work that well, though. The first time I used it, I had several painless cuts even though I used very little pressure, although I've had no cuts since.

Overall, I'm happy with it, although I'll be keeping an eye out for whenever the very expensive refills are on sale.

The blades have wire guards on the surface that protects your face from cuts. Very comfortable shave.

It won't get close at all.

If you're clean shaven, it'll work fairly well - for about one shave...

As for the blades themselves; I don't know what the excuse is to put in those vertical wires (surely not "stability" or "quality control"), but it makes cleaning virtually impossible. And I'm cleaning the thing as stated by the instructions... (and looking at the blade construction itself, cleaning it via running water down from the top wouldn't do any good anyway!)

I've so far replaced 3 blades in one week - and I've shaved only 5 times. Earlier models allowed me to go for a MONTH per blade...

And if you look closely, there's a blank space at the bottom of the razor that could easily fit the 5th blade for their highly vaunted 5-blade toy.

I also removed those vertical wires. Cleaning is easier, but in doing so it became absolutely clear (if it wasn't already) that the purpose OF those wires it to prevent cleaning and make disposing of the blades more frequent.

I'm going back to the Mach 3 or even to that single-bladed razor circa 1893 that never needs to be discarded; only resharpened like my kitchen knife set... I've got my own budget problems and the money invested in Schick's new chicanery only suggests they've got more money problems or else they wouldn't be so... unsavory in their approach to get more money out of their customers. Well, they can live without my money for now on. :(
