5.0 out of 5 stars excellent support
these lifting straps are easy to use, and offer great support for the wrists when heavy weights are being handled. While doing shoulder shrugs with 100+ pound dumbells, i could hardly hold on for about 10 seconds, which severly limited the strenght and size of my trapezoids. With the help of these straps, my wrists never give under any amount of pressure.

1.0 out of 5 stars not useful at all
I have used schiek straps for years and I'm a big fan of
Schiek, but the straps in this style are too short to be useful. the people at schiek should have known better

I have weak hands but lift a lot of weight. These are a tremendous help! I started using them for pullups as well, which allowed me to add 2-3 more pull ups!

Highly recommended...

4.0 out of 5 stars Schiek Sports lifting straps, July 14, 2008

These work great if you're serious about lifting and you're at the point were certain exercises become difficult because you're distracted by trying to keep your grip on significant weight (100 lb. + dumbbell shrugs, barbell rows etc...)

Fitment is good, ease of putting on is fairly good...could be easier...some fiddling sometimes...lifting assistance is GREAT! You can really concentrate on your range of motion and form and ignore the weight hanging off your arms now.

Get these over the hook type straps because they are not as cumbersome and you can ignore the straps on your wrists until you need them.

Very good product overall.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wraps, August 22, 2010
This review is from: Schiek Sports Schiek Lifting Strap (Health and Beauty)
I bought these a while ago, the padding has torn a bit so I'm replacing them. Other than the tearing though, amazing product. Best I've found, they handle 400+ deadlifts like its nothing.

This an excellent lifting strap. It's design allows it to go around your wrist in a way that your skin does not get pinched when lifting heavy weights. One set lasts me 2-3 months of heavy lifting. Highly recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Know what you're getting, do your research., September 27, 2011

Look around, Schiek makes the best lifting straps out there. These were my first pair of any such weightlifting straps, and I can say I'm happy with my purchase. You do not wind these around the bar in a conventional manner, instead they cover bar a little over 1 revolution, depending on the width of the bar; the dowel placed at the end of the strap allows you to wrap only once and tighten the grip in a throttling manner. Takes a while to get used to but they are much more convenient to use than the conventional style allowing you to get a secure grip in two motions. Some say the strap isn't long enough while in my personal experience I find it is more than enough, sometimes even requiring adjustment in wrist placement since the dowel can become uncomfortable on your palm when overwrapped on a bar. I suppose those who come from a conventional strap background may find them difficult to become accustomed to. Due to it's design it should not be used cleaning or an serious weight while deadlifting. Overall I find them worth their shortcomings, it cuts the wrapping procedure to a fraction of what it usually is and it's much easier to find their 'sweet spot' in grip for two handed excercises. I would recommend this to any of my friends having explained the differences between these and conventional straps. They appear to be extremely sturdy and well built, padding is extra nice too.

I immediately saw the difference - with other straps - I felt my wrists being constricted by the bands - not the case with these. It took a little while to get use to the design, but i quickly got the hang of using them. By taking the focus off my hand grip - it allows me to focus on the muscle group I am working.

Good quality materials - nice construction.

I highly recommend

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Lifting Straps, February 20, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
With these dowel lifting straps, you don't have to wrap a strap several times. I've been lifting for several years. I'm not 50 anymore and arthritis in the hands and wrists can be a problem when doing any pulling or lifting exercise. These straps are quicker to secure, will make your lifting experience less painful if you have physical issues in your hands and wrists. Whether you have arthritis or not, these straps will allow you to lift heavier weight, if you are so inclined.
