It doesn't specify it includes Hyaluronic Acid
on March 1, 2013
I used to buy this specific brand a few years back and it worked great. I just got a new bottle recently, and it is now a new formula which in addition to Glucosamine and MSM includes Hyaluronic Acid. The presence of HA in the new formula is visible in the label, but it is not visible in the Amazon picture, which is misleading. There is no mention of Hyaluronic Acid in the product description as of the time I'm writing this review.
What's the big deal? I am not comfortable ingesting Hyaluronic Acid supplements. I am not claiming it is bad, but there is some information which makes me uncomfortable about taking it. This information points to a potential role of Hyaluronic Acid in cancer metastasis (in other words, it might act as an accelerating agent in the spread of cancer cells). You can search for scientific research online regarding this.
I don't aim to scare anyone, simply to inform. What I would like is for Amazon to change the picture of the bottle with an accurate one, and to inform users that this product contains Hyaluronic Acid so that they can make informed purchasing decisions.
I would like Schiff to give the option to purchase the old formula without HA. Until then, I will be buying a different brand.
