From Library Journal
Anyone interested in pursuing a career in music will save time and energy by using this helpful guide. Like Barron's guides to academic institutions, this one-volume work lists by state (or country), then institution, information that includes address and telephone number, department head, departmental aims, music facilities, cost, and financial aid. Three indexes (by institution, program, and instrument) allow easy access. Caveat emptor: Many notable colleges with strong undergraduate and graduate programs in music and musicology have been omitted. Handel's National Directory for the Performing Arts ( LJ 8/88) is much more thorough in its listings but lacks an international section. You'll need both. Paula M.
