With a body length of five feet, these tigers generally weighed four hundred fifty pounds. The saber-toothed tiger had its fill of meat by ambushing its prey. Because of its massive canines, this feline was able to open its mouth twice as wide as lions. Feeding on mammoths, Smilodon had a body structure similar to a bear, aiding it in taking down large mammals. Traveling in packs, they were scavengers who brought food back for the young and old.
Fun Facts:The front teeth of the Smilodon were as long as pencils.

The figure is somewhat inaccurate in its pose and shape, having vaguely the position of a dog, but other than that the figure is accurate. The information tag also gives the figure a bit of educational value. Worthy addition to any collection of prehistoric animals.

I got this for my grandson. He is very interested in learning about the Smilodon(Sabertooth). He loves it.He put it on his desk and admires it daily.Though I am not sure how long it would last as a play toy.It looks like the tooths could easily be broken if you played alot with it.
