Product Description

From the Manufacturer

The entrance to the Tee Pee always points to the direction of the rising sun. The morning sun therefore shore into the interior of the tipi and was also shleter from the west wind

Product Description

With the entrance always facing the rising sun, tipis are tents held upright by long, thin sticks.

Structured with saplings, Tipis were the dwelling places of nomadic Native Americans. Whatever the weather, these tents kept inhabitants dry and comfortable. Imagine what family life was like with your Schleich Tipi, tough enough to last for years.

My grandson has a lot of this series of toys -- the Native Americans are his favorite right now. He also has a lot of the knights and the castle. He plays with these for hours. (Fortunately for him he has a dad who is an imaginative and patient playmate.) The tipi took about fifteen to twenty minutes to put together correctly, but once it was together he immediately set it on the table in his room and began to play with it. It's good quality, authentic looking, and stimulates his imagination.

This is a beautiful TeePee. It is much larger than I expected. It's got a lot of detail and is pretty sturdy. I was afraid it would be more like a collectible that sits on a shelf just for vewing. But, it can definitely be played with, and in our house, it is played with all the time. My son loves it. He had been asking for it for over a year and when he finally received it as a holiday gift, he was absolutely thrilled. I don't know that it has educational value; I never checked to see that it was a replica of a real TeePee but it appears to look very authentic. I just know that both my son and I are very pleased with this toy. Makes me wish I was 4 inches tall so I could fit inside!

Was a misleading purchase wanted full size play teepee this one was on the page with full size ones it is only about 12"tall plastic and they say it is collectible that's why was over $100 it should not be on the same page as play tents!!! My grandson picked it off the page so I ordered it not thinking to check that it was only a plastic toy size, I can't see anyone paying so much for this plastic thing poor quality

This is an unique gift. Very well made for the price. I have seen the same item for about $40 in Target & Toys R'Us. It comes in sections and the top piece is a little loose. If a person wanted to the parts could be superglued together for a better fit. As a toy it is good, but without any figures it is more of an ornament. I think it is a nice decorative object for your living room.

I bought two, one for my home and for my 6 year old grandson.

I rated it four stars for educational value, because it is a quality reproduction of an actual tipi and could be used to show what Plains Natives lived in. Could be used in a school classrom.

I did a search on Amazon for a childrens play tent (one that a child could fit into). I ordered the tent without reading the dimensions. This tent is for action figures not a real child.
