I use these for teaching the history of the Crusades for children. The knights are the virtues and the dragons are the seven capital sins.
The warfare equipment symbolize our prayers and the results. We win the battle over sin and satan.
I received this very quickly, and it was in excellent condition.

I purchased this figure, along with several others of the Schleich line, and was amazed at how well crafted they truly are. The figures are well sculpted, well painted, and very durable - meaning that if I WAS to let my son have a go at them, they could hold up to the punishment.

They are accurately detailed, with no traces of 'fantasy' or 'mythology' to them - no flaming swords, or oddly shaped weapons and armour. The knights are superbly crafted and historically designed.

If I may quote the previous post on similar Schleich figures by EquisNiger: "The pieces come in two opposing camps: the Red Fleur de Lis, and the Blue Lion, and each piece has a corresponding piece in the other, with somewhat different design and graphics. This reflects an impressive variety in styles of armament and armor of the period, and vastly improves the educational value of the series. "

In this case, however, we have the Crusader... resplendent in his white tunic over well designed chain-mail wielding his great war-hammer. He was one of a few pieces created for a Crusades line which seems more and more difficult to find ever since we became so politically correct that anything that denotes the war of the 'two great religions' as being inappropriate.

A shame that a historically accurate line of toys must also suffer at the hands of the extreme wings who fail to grasp the significance of such things. Creating a historically accurate toy does not endorse or condemn your views on said subject. Its a toy - and a damn well crafted and durable one at that - let it be just that, and enjoy it for what it is.

In all, I give this line of figure and their accessories Two Thumbs Up!

If you are looking for toys to be played with by your child these are pricey but sturdy & will hold up to rough play. But I would recommend you get them something cheaper! Schleich figurines are pricey for a reason they quickly gain in value! They are individually hand painted & extremely detailed!! I am reaching middle age & have turned collecting Medieval figurines and building a diorama in my basement into a hobby as trains & stamps aren't my thing! This crusader foot soldier is wielding a war hammer one of the most feared weapons on the battle field even for knights in full chain & Plate mail! Contrary to popular belief the war hammer was a weapon that required a lot of technique to be properly used. Yes anyone would be dangerous just wailing away with a War Hammer but the highly trained soldiers were devastating on the battle field. The Lucerene War Hammer had six points of contact & if mounted on a long handle was used to pull mounted knights from horse back using the back spike! Often if a well armored knight survived the blows from a war hammer he had to be rushed to a black smith to be removed from his damaged armor before it slowly killed him! The Medieval equivalent of the Jaws of life so to speak! My Crusader with War Hammer has brown eye's, the detail on these figurines is incredible you can see his teeth, the links of his chain mail the rivets on his helmet & a genuinely fierce expression on his face complete with flushed lips! even his white crusaders tunic has dust stains near the bottom! If by some chance his War Hammer is broken or knocked from his hand he has a beautifully detailed Broad sword tucked into his belt for back up!Read more ›

These Schleich Arabian figures, along with Schleich's Crusader figures, afford our children the chance to learn about western civilization's crusade against Islamic Jihadism.

I imagine Schleich is under a tremendous amount of politically correct pressure to remove their Arabian and Crusader lines and that would be a shameful victory for the Jihadists and their dhimmi allies in the West. I hope Schleich recognizes the political importance of these figures and continues the line.

My son started getting a couple of these as a reward when very young and fell in love with them. He now has hundred and so glad he is. They don't get out dated and are great quality.
