This review is from: Schleitheim Confession (Paperback)
It is good if you just want to review the Schleitheim Confession. However, if you are looking for more information on how and why it was written, look for other books on Michael Sattler. John Howard Yoder wrote one titled "The Legacy of Michael Sattler" that is excellent.

This review is from: Schleitheim Confession (Paperback)
For anyone interested in the Anabaptists and their legacy as the true reformers of the 14th-16th centuries this short confession is an excellent resource.
The Schleitheim Confession was an early confession by The Radicals, or Anabaptists, concerning such issues as the Christological view of Scripture in the N.T. church order, the ban, the swearing of oaths and non resistance. The Anabaptists were years ahead of any of the Reformation Era theologians and were an example of true Biblical, primitive Christianity in their day. I rate this as a four star only because this confession is available for free on the internet. I like to have the hard copy for reference however and so I purchased this in book form. |
