What could have been a delightful story falls flat. The rhymed verse is lively and rhythmic, but the phrasing is often forced and awkward. This book is a hit with kids. My (very well read kids) select it often. The illustrations are A+ and the plot is original and entertaining.

Try it. You (and your kids) are going to love it!

IN A RUSH TO PACK FOR THEIR TRIP, THE FAMILY LEAVES THEIR DOG BEHIND. THE NEIGHBOR NOTICES THE ABANDONED DOG & DRIVES THE DOG TO THE FAMILY. NOT AS CLEVER OR ENTERTAINING AS SLINKY MALINKI, WHICH IS A MUST HAVE.

My son loves this book and so do all my family members. We have read it over and over since receiving it a year ago. The author is talented and captures the young-reader's attention and imagination. A wonderful book.
