3.0 out of 5 stars THIS IS NOT ONE DODD'S BESTS
IN A RUSH TO PACK FOR THEIR TRIP, THE FAMILY LEAVES THEIR DOG BEHIND. THE NEIGHBOR NOTICES THE ABANDONED DOG & DRIVES THE DOG TO THE FAMILY. NOT AS CLEVER OR ENTERTAINING AS SLINKY MALINKI, WHICH IS A MUST HAVE.

My son loves this book and so do all my family members. We have read it over and over since receiving it a year ago. The author is talented and captures the young-reader's attention and imagination. A wonderful book.

4.0 out of 5 stars My son's favorite dog with a low tum., May 2, 2008
By
My kindergarten son loves any of Lynley Dodd's books, but especially Schnitzel Von Krumm...it's fun to say and fun to read about. He even appears in some of the other books, but "forget-me-not" is my son's favorite to read. I definitely recommend this book.

I have to admit I am a sucker for books about Dachshunds. Lynley Dodd has really pegged my dachshunds in this book!

4.0 out of 5 stars A Canine Home Alone, October 21, 2006

Schnitzel Von Krumm is excited by the carryings on of his family. They are moving all sorts of things around and putting them in a car and trailer. But so busy are they that they have no time to play. As Schnitzel tries to see what's what he is told he is in the way. Even bed is not a safe place as he gets tossed out and told to behave. So he watches the action as things are piled and packed and finally they drive away.

Could they have forgotten Schnitzel? It seems that way. But Schnitzel's cries and howls are heard by the neighbor Miss Plum. But as Miss Plum comes to the rescue the family realizes that there is something not right. They have forgotten Schnitzel Von Krumm! Everything works out in the end and everyone is happy.

Schnitzel Von Krumm can be seen in BASKETWORK, DOGS NEVER CLIMB TREES, and also makes appearances in a number of Hairy Maclary books. This delightful dachshund with the very low tum is a wonderful character. Lynley Dodd tells of his adventures in a wonderful rhyming lyrical style that uses grown-up language. No see Spot run here. Lynley Dodd's books are a delight for young and old alike. Check them all out.
