Product Description

Schoenhut's 25 key tabletop is an excellent choice for a toddler's first piano. Both fun and educational, playing this instrument develops eye-hand coordination and promotes musical creativity. Lovely chime-like notes are produced by little hammers striking steel music rods. The width of the keys promotes proper finger placement, enabling an easy transition to a larger piano. Always a huge hit as a baby shower gift. Whether for a holiday, special occasion, or just for fun, this little piano will encourage a child on the path to music. Includes: Schoenhut's Learning System. Schoenhut's Learning System, with its play-by-color assortment of songs, makes playing simple and fun. A removable, color-coordinated strip fits behind the keys to guide small fingers from chord to chord. The corresponding Songbook contains a collection of familiar tunes. This Learning System has been specially designed to build a child's confidence and develop basic playing skills. Height_ 12 Material Wood Color Red

Consider this as an alternative to an electronic keyboard toy. It's nearly impossible to find a musical toy that doesn't take batteries nowadays! This toy is true to key, has a bright tone, and is fun to play with. My 1-year-old niece loves to pound on it, and I'm hoping that she'll learn a little something about music from it as well. It appears to be well-constructed and a high quality piece of equipment.

We bought this for our daughter when she was around 11 months. She is now 13 months and is in the phase of playing the piano with her butt, where she basically stands up in front of it, turns around, and then sits on the keys and bounces around. She does make music this way, and smiles a lot and really enjoys it - then turns around and bangs a few keys with her fingers. She has also had her stuffed gorilla play a few keys, and she has tried playing with her feet. So yes, she is a little young, but that's why we bought it - the exposure is awesome and this is a genuine piano, it's in-tune and can take a beating. I am so glad we bought it and expect it to be popular with her for a couple more years. And the red color - are you kidding me? So cute..

I ordered this piano for my 1 year old daughter for christmas, and it is by far her favorite present. At first she was quite rough with the keys and I was worried it would get damaged but she quickly calmed down and plays much more delicately. Since she "opened" it she has been enamored and consistently crawls back to it to play a little song for me. I was concerned she was too young for this piano but I think it suits her quite well. Perfect size for a little one, and looks and feels sturdy and high quality. The only complaint I have is I THOUGHT i purchased the red piano with gold logo and mine showed up with a white logo... Really not a big deal for us though. I love this piano and like that it's not just a toy, it's educational too. All in all perfect for our little whites-stripes-loving, indie-rock-jamming little girl.

Yes, THE FLIGHT OF THE CONCHORDS PIANO!!!! That alone earns it 5 stars. I actually bought this for an adult friend who's a fan of the show, but she might have to fight my niece for it because she fell in love with it too when she saw it. I'm a huge believer in teaching music to children. This piano is a great size for a toddler (or adult) and seems to be very solidly constructed. Not 100% in tune, but very close considering it's a toy. I'd trust it to last several years, and will probably end up buying one for my niece next Christmas too. Haven't played the other model w/ fewer keys, but I think this model must be better.
