2.0 out of 5 stars Not for average students, April 13, 2000

This review is from: The Scholarship Advisor, 1999 Edition: Hundreds of Thousands of Scholarships Worth More Than $1 Billion (Paperback)
I found the scholarship advisor a great source, but not very good if you don't meet certain criterias. There were many state scholarships and for people of ethnic background who were going into specific areas of study so therefore if you didn't meet the criteria you don't get a scholarship. There were not too many scholarships for people who are majoring in history and not going to certain schools. In order to qualify most you have to be just coming out of high school or live in a certain state. There were also many repeat scholarships it looked like throughout the book all in all this I found about two scholarships that I could apply for. So it did not help me very much but if you are a high school senior and don't care what school you go to or if you live in certain states than go for it because it will be just what you're looking for. Especially you enginering or medical majors.

This was a great book in its time, but that was before the scholarship folks had web pages! So, everything you find, you will need to google to find the website for.

I did find many scholarships I was not being sent by FastWeb, College Prowler, etc. And, once you find pages on your topic - Engineering, for example - you will find many on the same subject.

A great price! Frankly, I felt free to cut out the ones that were applicable and paste them into my own binder of scholarships.

I would recommend, for convenience, getting his updated version with the web sites! He has done a great deal of work for us all! Kudos to Chris!
