Great Resource and Reading for kids who don't like fiction,
By ark76 "Annie K" (Virginia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Scholastic Almanac For Kids 2010 Edition (Paperback)
My son, aged 9, doesn't like to read fiction (novels) very much but devours each years Almanac for Kids and has since he was 7. The Almanacs stay in the car and he will flip through it and start reading from whatever caught his attention. He really enjoys knowing more than me "Mom, did you know who the tallest person in the world is?" and retains quite a bit of the information. It is well laid out with eye catching pictures and is easily readable for 7 - 14 year olds. The information is new enough each year to get the newest version.

My son is receiving these books for the holidays, upon his request. He's read these books in the past and always asks for the yearly updates.
