5.0 out of 5 stars Another great ISpy title!, October 11, 2008

My children (4 and 7) love playing ISPY. It keeps them busy for hours. This title is fun - you solve "riddles" and earn tickets to play games in the Fun House. One thing I particularly like is that the game is good for readers and non-readers alike. The riddles are written at the bottom of the screen, and children can click on words they don't know and the program will read them aloud. This sort of evens the playing field for my kids, and they enjoy playing together and separately. A great pick.

5.0 out of 5 stars My son loves this game, October 10, 2008
This review is from: Scholastic I Spy Funhouse [Old Version] (Video Game)
I brought this home becasue my son loves the I Spy books. He's 5 so I had to do it with him becasue it involves reading but we both had a great time looking for the hidden pictures. The graphics are really interesting and well done. It is a great thing to do together and is both fun and educational.

4.0 out of 5 stars Worth the Wait!, October 5, 2008

We had been waiting for some time for a new I Spy game to come out, and this one was worth the wait! I only wish there were more versions, so we could enjoy it a little longer after we get through it.

4.0 out of 5 stars I Spy is great, but the Fun House?, February 10, 2009
This review is from: Scholastic I Spy Funhouse [Old Version] (Video Game)
Finally, an I Spy that works with Vista! I'm hoping it'll be just as good with Win XP (my grandchildren's computer), since the I Spy Junior and the other earlier versions seem not to have been updated, and work on XP sometimes, and sometimes not.
This I Spy is a fine combination of easy to find items and others that are more hidden or are based on a pun (Pin can be a safety pin or a bowling pin.) Such a great game to play with younger grandkids and to watch with older ones.
However, the Fun House part seems to be just a few sets of "games" that have no end and are a more difficult level than the I Spy part. Almost a let down after finally earning the 11 tickets to enter. I'd like it if you could do a challenge perhaps 10 times and get a score that you could try to match or best. Not timed because I do NOT like timed games. I kept expecting there to be some end and wished they could be easy, medium and harder. If I'm wrong about this part of the program, I welcome correction.
It seems to me the Mystery House I Spy version had some ultimate goal, but it's been a while since I played it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Amazon requirements wrong, November 5, 2010

This is a great game, however the system requirements for Mac that Amazon has listed are incorrect! The game does not run on an Intel Mac, if you check the box it says it runs on a G4 processor and 10.2 OS.

This game does not run on any operating system newer than 10.4!!

It is good for a small kids to enjoy their time with computer.
I do not like any computer game for kids except the "I spy" series.
Kids can get smarter and have fun at the same time.
I wish they have an "I spy" for grown-ups!

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome I SPY, January 5, 2009

This is the fourth I SPY that I have bought for the grandkids, and they love it. The screens have all been different so far, we haven't gotten through all of them yet. My 8 yr old and 5 yr old grandchildren will spend hours playing I SPY and enjoy showing Grandma how to find the objects listed. It is a good way to spend time with the children and improve their computer skills with out them knowing it.

My son got this game for Christmas and had it solved by New Years. Very engaging game, lots of nice pictures and game play that is simple but well done. Not a whole lot of re-playability, but there are way more puzzles here than in one of the books for not much more cost.

My children are 5 and 7 and have no difficulty playing this game without support. Their favorite feature is that they can hear the text read to them and click to have the text re-read at any time. When they find and click on the items in the pictures, most of them play an animation with sound. Some will repeat, but some will only play the first time you find them. Best of all, this is a game that claims to work on an Intel Mac and actually does. I only had to install it once and it works on all the accounts on our computer. There are no hiccups, no secret handshakes to get it to work, and my children don't have to force-quit every fifteen minutes like they do with other games.
