About the Author

HANNAH SHAW graduated from Brighton University with a BA in illustration and now lives in a tiny Cotswold village with a blacksmith named Ben and with Ren, a crazy, long-legged dog who thinks he is human. Hannah says her town is "very quaint, but nothing happens! Hence, I have to let my imagination run riot."

Sneaky Weasel, the first children's book that Hannah both wrote and illustrated, received two starred reviews. She is also the author/illustrator of Erroll on the Knopf list and the illustrator of The Sleep Sheep by Anna McQuinn and Crocodiles Are the Best Animals of All! by Sean Taylor.

I would recommend it to anyone with a preschooler.

She does a very nice job of avoiding the preaching so common in children's books about manners, demonstrating their benefits rather than simply talking about them.

This book is really cute. The main character isn't living up to his family's expectations of being a great bandit, so they send him to school to learn to "behave", i.e., steal and generally be bad. He isn't doing well, but then proves that by being nice, he can do better than his peers who act bad, leading all racoons to change their behavior. The books has a fun almost comic book style, and isn't preachy but rather fun.

My 7 year old likes that the parents tell Ralph to be bad, but he's good. She would recommend her teacher read this.

This is a funny story about manners which my son and I love to read. The pictures are great and the story is moral without hitting you on the head. I don't mind reading it over and over as is frequently required when a new book arrives at our house. I would recommend it to anyone with a preschooler.
