About the Author

Dr. William Jenson is a professor of Educational Psychology at the University of Utah. His research interests are in the areas of behavioral interventions for tough kids, parent training, generalization of treatment effects, and autism. Dr. Julie Bowen is currently working as a school psychologist in Salt Lake City and also serves as an adjunct faculty member at the University of Utah, where she supervises graduate students in the school psychology program.

The first 4 chapters of this book include concise information on all aspects of student behavior in school. The rest of the book includes school based interventions and how to implement them at your location. I am a former special education teacher and current school psychology student--this book is the best resource that I have on my shelf. GET IT!

I have found this textbook to be helpful in understanding effective, research based interventions for both individualized and school-wide interventions in elementary and secondary schools. I'm reading this text as part of a school counseling program. However, I have found several grammatical errors and continue to come across them as I read through this text. I'm not sure how these errors were not caught in the editing process, but I am slightly annoyed by them and feel it detracts from the professionalism of the text.
