Editorial Reviews

Nicotine hails from Chiba, Japan. Playing their punk rock sound since 1993, the band has worked extremely hard to bring their high-octane sound to the masses. School Of Liberty is their 2003 album from Asian Man Records featuring 17 tracks.

4.0 out of 5 stars Dang, these guys can rock, June 4, 2005
By
This review is from: School of Liberty (Audio CD)
Wow. I was thouroughly amazed with the majority of this cd. These guys from japan aren't well known around here for the very reason that they are from japan, but if more punk fans would start listening to these guys they would quickly skyrocket. They're melodic riffs, they're steadfast drum beats, all you have to get over is the singer's heavy japanese accent. anyways on with the songs:

Welcome: "welcome to the school of liberty, lets do ITTTT!!!" is all it says, but its a nice way to lead up to the next great song N/A

Perfect Crime: Wow this song is amazing. Great melodic riff and speed. Really catchy (and funny when the dude says "its time to stand up and raise your frag" (since he can't say flag with his accent) Great solo. 10/10

Mission of the Rising Sun: Insulting to Americans, but still a great song music wise. 7/10

At the class room: another pointless song like welcome. Hillarious hearing them have to use computer generated voices to make the characters of this short skit talk in english N/A

Get the Liberty: Great song to just yell out to. Great catchy chorus, and at the end every time you just want to scream "Get the Liberty!" 9/10

Dream of Summer Days: Starts off really nice but kind of gets boring after a while. Its still a really good song though. Its also kind of slow. 7/10

Freak Me Out: Really catchy chorus, but rest of song is kind of boring. Really, really catchy chorus makes up for it though, your always wanting to get to 8/10

Lesson: pointless song that leads up to dirty tricks N/A

Dirty Tricks: Pretty good song. Nice riffs are in it. Pretty stupid lyrics though, but thats whats funny about these guys since they can't speak english that well. 8/10

Predator: One of the most energy packed, if not the most energy packed, song on the whole album, and its awesome. It introduces an almost harcore sound to the vocalist who still sings melodically. Awesome drum beat also. 9/10

Flash Back: Lyrics actually make sense and can have an impact on you. The song is really really good too. Great song, fast and awesome riffs. 9/10

Beat Motion: Fun song, kind of pointless lyrics, but really fun, and fast. 9/10

Kick against the pricks: Probably my least favorite song on the cd. Its ok, its just nothing special. 5/10

At the Starting Line: This song must have the coolest riff ever at the beginning. I love the energy in this song because its really loud and filled with energy but yet its not angry. Thats what makes it so good. 10/10

No Way: Ok song, pretty average except for the nice riff in the bridge 7/10

In the Rising Sun: I don' t know why I love this song, but i do. You can just sing along with it and really connect into it. 10/10

Basket Case: Great cover of green day's song. I like how they sped it up. Not the best song on the cd but still an awesome way to end off the cd. 9/10

well thats it. GO OUT AND BUY IT!!!
