Book Description

June 30, 2007
Schott's Original Miscellany is "the ultimate book for browsing" (Newsweek), "utterly indispensable" (Vanity Fair), "a charmingly addictive curiosity cabinet" (Entertainment Weekly). Making Schott's a natural fit for our Page-A-Day line. Introducing Schott's Almanac, a wittily engaging new calendar packed with tidbits of uncommon— yet seemingly indispensable—knowledge from the mind that brought us the bestselling Schott's line of miscellanies and the soon-to-be published U.S. edition of Schott's Almanac. Where else can you find the 13 principles of witchcraft, the importance of snooker to nuns, famous last meals, why surfing is the "sport of kings," and the Bad Sex in Fiction Award?

5.0 out of 5 stars A Fact A Day..., March 16, 2008
This review is from: Schott's Almanac Page-A-Day Calendar 2008 (Calendar)
I have given Schott's Almanac as a Christmas gift for several years. It is very quirky. Then my nephew gave me the calendar. It is both rare and well done. Best calendar of that ilk that I have ever seen.

I got this to put on the shared desk at work. Everyone likes to read the little items on each day. However, it is obviously from Britain, and since we are in America, some of the items are different to some of the workers. I personally like trivia of any kind. You can never get too much knowledge.
