This is a pretty nice little knife. There's an emblem on the side of the blade itself that says "razor blade quality".
It's a long, thin blade. It's a bit too stiff for a filet knife, and too weak for a "great outdoors" knife. But, it does have it's place.

I work as a produce inspector, and this style of knife is worth it's weight in gold. The blade comes quite sharp from the factory. A little time with a smith knife sharpening kit brought it up to a VERY sharp blade. And after using this knife for several weeks, I can tell you that the blade holds an edge well - as well as comparable knives of $50 value.
I used to have a similar knife with ivory handles (rather than this 'fake ivory'), and this blade holds up just as well. And for the price, it's perfect.
Like I said though, it is a very unique knife design, and won't be well suited in some situations.

Tip: there's no lube in the hinge. After a while it started to feel "sluggish" when opening & closing it. A drop of veggie oil took care of that. Now it opens cleanly and snaps to the fully open position crisply, as one would expect of a new knife.

I had the opportunity to buy one of these from a knife store for a couple dollars more and when I got it home and used it for fruit and cheese, I just loved it. The long, thin, but fairly sharp blade is perfect for cutting fruit and cheese. When I saw it on Amazon for a couple dollars cheaper, I had to get another one. In fact, I also ordered the larger size version, but have not received it yet, so that will be another review.

This is a knife that is not so expensive that you are afraid to use it. There is nothing fancy or frivolous about this knife. It is one that is reasonably priced and is useful and it works well for what it was made for.

I have used this knife almost on a daily basis for more than a year. Although, not it's intended use, I have found it also slices bagels quite nicely. I consider it my carry along fruit and bread knife.

loses a star because it is made in China. use at work for making my lunch, use my Buck for everything else. Really Sharp! solid! no locking blade but it still feels safe.
