I own a lot of knives and I bought this as an every day 'in pocket' clip knife. It is a little larger than I was expecting but it is a great knife and very good quality. I am impressed.

The item looked completely different than was shown on the website. I ended up refunding it and had no problems.

Schrades have been in my family forever. My first knife was a two-bladed old-timer given to me by my grandfather back in the 1970's. The name has long been synonymous with quality. I have to admit being skeptical when I saw that Schrade had take the plunge and (like everyone else, it seems) started making their products in China. I had been shopping for a new pocket knife and when I came across this one, I decided to give it a shot.
When it arrived I was happy to find that it was built fairly sturdily, and the handle was reasonably comfortable in my hand. The blade lock expands beyond the shape of the grip somewhat. You can feel this with your hand (not terrible, but noticeable), and I also worry that squeezing a knife of this design might accidentally release the lock. It hasn't happened yet; so far doesn't seem to be a problem with this item. Whatever they coated the handle with does give it a little extra 'grip' which is nice. The blade is sturdy and probably the toughest part of this knife. That was pleasing because I abuse knives, and the blades are always the first to go. They're just not made thick enough. That doesn't seem to be an issue here. In the last month I've given this knife a pretty good run, and it has held up to my abuse quite well. Under extreme use (like hammering or throwing) all the little screws that hold this knife together start to loosen quite quickly. The good news is that you can tighten them right back up if you have a small enough torx bit (some loctite might not be a bad idea either). The blade hasn't lost its edge yet, so I don't know how well its sharpens. I will warn that the handle slabs appear to be made of some sort of plastic. It's reasonably resilient for the price, but does not take extreme abuse. I've got a few chips and cracks, but again please note that I did subject this knife to *extreme* use. Overall this knife was excellent for the price, but I only give three stars because of the design flaws I've noted, and because it's made in China. A few extra dollars on the quality side might make this knife a contender against much more expensive competitors. It also seems that a company like Schrade could capitalize on being an American-made product in this market.

I bought this knive 2 weeks ago as a gift ! I like it so much , getting one for myself ! More solid then most of my 50$ plus knives . For the money it can't be beat ! The handle is more smooth than I like <but it came very sharp . The only thing I don't like is : I'ts made in china < I TRY SO HARD TO BUY AMERICAN MADE !!!! EVEN IF IT COSTS MUCH MORE !These web sites should tell you where it's made !
