I ordered this new Schrade knife because I've had one like it for years and It's as solid now as the day I bought it over 15yrs ago. I thought it would be nice to have another one. I was disappointed as soon as I opened the box and saw th sheath. I would describe it as "pleather sheath" When I took out the knife out of the sheath I could tell right away that It wasn't the same. It's thinner and lighter than My old one. When I opened the knife the blade was stamped made in China. I found out the original Schrade went out of business and the name was acquired by another company. I should have researched it before I ordered it. So that being said, This knife is similar in appearance and seems to function properly. Time will tell If will perform as well as My old one.

This is a very good folding hunter. It doesn't quite have the heft to it that the Buck folding hunter does. But it is still well constructed. I like the simulated horn scales. It matches the length of the Buck lockback. The sheath is not up to the same quality as the Buck sheath, but it is still very servicable. A lot of knife for the price.

This is a nice knife for the money.It was a little too large for my purposes,so I sent it back and got the 3 1/2".Much better fit for me.

immediately disappointed as soon as i opened the box and pulled it out.Way lighter compared to when the good old U.S.A made these knives and realy cheeply made. Crappy plastic on the handle,not to mention a few scratches on the handle as well.i was gonna buy a bunch of these for stocking stuffers but that has changed.The only good thing about my order was how fast i recieved it.From now on im sticking to american made.Goodbye schrade nice knowin you.

This is by no means the best knife out there, however for the price I really don't see how it can get any better. The knife is a Schrade Old Timer 70T. It has a beautiful classic design that's hard to find in a knife these days. It's weight is just right for it's size. Super solid construction. I was concerned the blade would be dull out of the box, however it passed the paper test before any sharpening. A few grinds on the sharpening stone made it as sharp as any knife out there. The lock is very solid with absolutely no blade play. The unlocking mechanism requires a bit of force to initiate, however I would by no means consider this a flaw. There are no screws, so anything becoming loose over time is out of the question. The handle feels really good. The sheath is made of leather that is probably not of the highest quality, however it is fully functional and a wonderful addition. I know some of you knife enthusiasts steer clear of knives made in China, but if you are looking for a medium sized EDC folding knife with a old fashioned feel, I encourage you to give this knife a shot. It definitely will not be a waste of money like many other knives sold in this price range.

The knife is great for a China made knife & delivery was fast. But the sheath in a month has already started to fall apart, I use the knife all day every day so maybe the constant in & out has taken its toll. Overall not to bad

This knife is excellent, heavy, and well-made. It seems to be of good quality and larger than most pocket knives. Gave as a gift and my brother loved it. The case is durable and made out of fine leather that attaches to your belt. The knife has a rustic look that I like very much. Very happy with this purchase.

Got it for my dad as a gift and for someone who uses knives on a regular bases He loved it! Kinda wish now that I had purchased two cause now I have to wait for mine.

Again, I knew this knive was MIC, but thought I'd give it a try for the price. I have an older version Made in the USA and there is no comparison to the quality and workmanship of the USA made knive. As a hunter and trapper I use this knife, it doesn't just sit around looking good. My advise is save your money and buy an american made knife.

I have always been a Shrade man. I am sorry they shut down, but luckily some product is still available. I was a liitle disapointed that it is made in China! Oh well, It's better than a Buck 110 at half the price. I was thinking of getting more for christmas presents, but I don't know if these friends should have knives.
