Beautiful when new. Real copper bottom, and very easy to clean. However I thought it was red glass. It's clear glass, covered by red cellophane which starts peeling off soon after purchase. I'm going to attempt to get my money back.

I would have been 100% satisfied had the glass actually been red. It's clear glass with red paint, and the two I own started to flake within a month. Isn't it common knowledge that paint does not stick to glass well?? Why would you make a product like this? I've had mine for 8 months and I'm left with blotchy feeders that I paid over $30 for, thanks Schrody...

I do have a couple positives things to say about the feeder. I like the capacity and the copper plate on the base. The capacity is small, but I like that because it helps me keep the food fresh. I love that the plate is actually copper, and not plated or coated with anything, so it actually changes color instead of rusting like so many other feeders on the market do. If they were to fix the problem with the painted bottle, they would have a good product worth the price. Until then, I would not recommend this to my friends.

Since I was paying about 3 times the price of a regular feeder, I thought it would be of superior quality. Not really. The glass isn't stained. It's a cheap red coating which will peal off after about 3 washings. Nice looking -- for about a week.

These are the BEST hummingbird feeders EVER!!! They are well made, elegant in appearance and the birds love them. Just reordered two to replace the ones we have had for over three years... they are getting a bit weathered. The red glass eliminates the need to color the bird food... a plus for the birds! You won't be disappointed.

I didn't buy this feeder, it was a gift from my in-laws and I have to say it is the best feeder I've ever owned! Not only is it beautiful, but it's a cinch to clean, easy to fill and the hummers love it! I am constantly running out of food and having to make whip up more to keep my hummers happy. With my old plastic feeder the food never ran out and I'd end up pouring it out and replacing it with fresh because it would go bad. No more!
I would definitely recommend this feeder! I am going to buy myself another, maybe two, and I'm also going to buy one for my in-laws who bought this one for me. I always have hummers long before they do and we're all convinced that it's a feeder! :)

The Humming birds love this feeder the best! It has a unique bar for the birds to land on and hold on to, so they sit longer rather than hovering like the birds do on the other feeders. There are also more holes so when a group shows up that get along I have had as many as 5 hummers sitting on the bar and all drinking at the same time. I make my own food and I can leave out the red food coloring because it is so red. I have had no problem with the color fading or peeling. The feeder has been out exposed to rain and sun for five months.

Looks just like the picture. The feeding ports are holes stamped in the copper in a flower design. I don't think theres a way to keep the bugs out and the copper chain and base are not clear coated so they will turn green/black when it gets wet. This was the first time I bought a feeder that had copper components, and I definitely will not do it again.

They are beautiful but still no hummers! They look great, though, hanging in the trees!

I bought one this past spring. I bought it because I loved the cobalt blue. 10 days later -- yes, only 10 days later -- the cobalt blue faded into a light tan color. I contacted the company I bought it from (Duncraft). I sent them a photo. They replaced it.
Again, 10 days later, that one faded the same way. I took a pic of both of them to show them. They again sent me another one.
10 days later.... you guessed it, that one faded too. I told them to forget sending me another one. They returned my money, had excellent customer service, but the product was LOUSY!!!
DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!

I bought this exclusively for the looks. The base is beautiful copper (in contrast to one reviewer, it's not plastic) and stayed pristine, didn't discolor (it is sealed) and I really liked the blue glass. However, that blue color faded away with the first summer and is now a pale pinkish color. I can now fully see through the glass, which I couldn't before. Bummer...
