The color of this feeder is nothing like the picture. It's actually a nearly opaque dark purple. There is no way to check the level of the contents without taking it down. The copper base is a thin stamped cover over a cheap plastic bowl with easily stripped threads. It is very cheap looking. If I had seen it in a store, I certainly would not have bought it. For the price, it is an extremely poor value.

This is a very elegant looking feeder. I get compliments on it all the time. Most importantly, the hummingbirds love this feeder. I can't keep it full long enough and there in lies the problem. It does not last a full day. The feeder is so easy to clean and can be done so thoroughly as the entire base separates from the feeder and can be completely cleaned. I've had mine for about 3 years and have since bought 2 more. One is a larger size which I can no longer find but these are the ones preferred by the hummers in my area. I have up to 6 birds at a time feeding from these as there are multiple ports and a safe perch for them to relax as they fuel up.

The photo is indeed misleading. The glass is so dark that it is difficult to tell how much is left. Quality is better than most of the plastic ones and it does look a heck of a lot nicer. Doesn't appear to drip even in strong winds. I was skeptical that hummers would like the design since it has no red flowers. But they found it within a day and keep coming back for more. Might try some other colors if they aren't as dark.
