Good for the price.,

I've been using this bike for about a month and over all I am pleased. The seat is my biggest complaint. I've gotten used to it to a certain degree, but it still bothers me after about 35-40 minutes, even when I'm wearing my biking shorts. My only other complaint is that the construction seems kind of cheap and flimsy in certain ways. I feel like I need to be kind of careful with it, although nothing has broken. The programs are fine, and it is almost silent while riding it. Considering the relatively low price, I think this is a good bike, and I don't regret my purchase.

We bought this before we read the Amazon reviews, and I was a bit surprised at them. We saw it at a couple of sporting goods stores and tried it out several models before deciding to purchase one. Several were cheaper in price and felt so in construction. My husband is a TALL man, and this was one of the few that didn't see too top-heavy when he was on it. Also, some of the other models were so poorly designed that his knees hit the handlebars while peddling.
Assembly was easy. I have Rheumatoid arthritis, and I was able to assemble it with help only on the seat area (couldn't get the bolt tight enough to keep the seat from moving on my own). There has been none of the "knocking" that one user reported on ours, and the programs/control panel seem to function properly. It is very quiet to operate, and could probably be used in a room where another is sleeping. I must agree, however, the box it came in is more suited to a toy cycle. It was raining when it came and by the time it got from the truck to the front door and in the foyer, it was literally falling apart (made it easy to get the parts out of it, though). While my experience is still new with this item, I must say that it is a positive one (just not with the box).

I LOVE it already!!,

Schwinn 130 Upright Exercise Bike I assembled this bike this morning and it was EASY and I usually HATE to assemble things. We have a Schwinn Airdyne but I don't want that much of an upper body workout, so I decided on this model after MUCH shopping around. The Schwinn name is one we already trusted from previous purchases. The bike is so easy to use and it's absolutely SILENT! It has a very sturdy feel. The seat is easy and quick to adjust, so my 11 year old daughter used it after I did. We're going to put LOTS of miles on this bike! And-- maybe the best part-- Amazon's price blew everybody away!!!

Great Bike bad packing materials,

Great solid bike that is silent, as far as the bike goes more than I expected. It is soundless no clicking noises smooth operation. My opinion is the people that have clicking choppy bikes are either damaged or assembled wrong somehow. I was expecting some noise but I can't hear anything at all except a very slight motor noise on tension changes. I bought the bike to ride while I watch movies and this has worked out great.
I was 6' 240lbs when I bought this bike I have long legs and I clear the handle bars at any adjustment setting. anyone having clearance issues have giraffe legs, the handle bars and the seat both adjust towards and away from each other along with the seat height adjustment. I'm down to 220lbs now but the bike was solid and sturdy for me at 240lbs no side to side movement at all. I'm guessing people having balance issues ride like the person in this video or haven't tightened the fasteners. [...]. Seat seems hard but being as big as I am I not going to complain about it If it's still uncomfortable under 200lbs I'll just change it out, seat mount has a standard bike seat post so any bicycle seat will fit it. About SHIPPING WOW cheapest cardboard I have ever seen along with Styrofoam as solid as a cotton ball. Box was severely mutilated with about 3" of one corner completely missing. Cardboard is so weak you can poke your finger through anywhere you choose. All the styrofoam inside was broken into baseball sized pieces or smaller. I figured there was no way the bike would work and I'd be doing the return dance. Only damage in the end was to a slight break in the joints of the main plastic cover. Everything else wasn't touched. Conclusion: I love the bike, Silent, solid if you tighten the fasteners completely and ride like a normal person. I gave 4 stars only because of the packaging Schwinn really needs to look into the quality of the materials.

Thought I was getting quality,
This review is from: Schwinn 130 Upright Exercise Bike (Sports)
I live in a small apartment, and this seemed like a perfectly small exercise bike.
This thing looked good, and the Schwinn name was a plus. Everything was going great during assembly, but I noticed that the wiring for the heart monitoring probes was broken. I thought I could live with it, but what I couldn't live with was the knocking noise that came with each revolution. This all happened during the first 30 minutes of operation. Pedaling also feels kind of choppy. It is all very annoying. The bike doesn't feel solid, and is a bit wobbly. Construction is flimsy, and it doesn't look like Schwinn went with a quality contractor. Even the "SCHWINN QUALITY" logo seal is falling off. I have used Schwinn exercise machines at the local gym and have been very happy with them. I guess I have to pay a little more for the privilege of a trouble free exercise bike. I will definitely be getting rid of this thing.

GOOD, BUT NOT GREAT,
This review is from: Schwinn 130 Upright Exercise Bike (Sports)
There are a lot of 5-stars reviews for the schwinn 130. I think that's a bit misleading since it's good but not great. I'd read the reviews for the 131 to see some criticisms.
Things I Like: 1) Almost silent - there was a creaking noise, but that was fixed by loosening one of the screws in the base) 2) Smooth peddling. 3) Relatively compact footprint - doesn't take much space. 4) Book/magazine holder made from metal - strong enough to put my laptop in it while riding. Things I Disliked: (these cons are in comparison to a DiamondBack (DB) upright bike that I saw in an equipment store. It was similar in price.) 1) Schwinn console/display not easy to use. If you compare to the DB bike, the DB console is easier to read, and quicker to program, and has more programming options. This is a serious drawback for the Schwinn. To me the console is an essential part of the bike. It helps you keep pace (for a good workout) and keeps the workout interesting (so you comeback again). A poor console diminishes the experience when you get annoyed with it. 2) the handlebars are not as adjustable as the DB. Schwinn 130 handlebars can go closer or farther. DB handlebars can be adjusted up/down and closer/farther and tilted more or less.

If you like to ride a bike and enjoy regular exercise, buy this exercise bike. I exercise daily and have used a treadmill for 3 or 4 years. I bought this bike to give me some variety and I have ended up using it exclusively! I have ridden it daily for the last 3 weeks and love it. It is quiet, comfortable and rides almost exactly like a bicycle. And the price is great too.

Great bike.,
This review is from: Schwinn 130 Upright Exercise Bike (Sports)
We bought this bike not knowing what to expect. This bike has gone above and beyond our dreams. First off the bike is beyond quiet. You simply can't hear it. We did have a weird noise from the pedal that another customer wrote. A simple removal and screwing the pedal back on solved that instantly. Second, we love the options that came with this bike. For the money I defy you to find a better deal!

Came Broken and Schwinn/Nautilus won't repair the bike,

Our bike came with broken shrouds (the plastic body). This would inevitably allow dust and dirt to get inside the bike so we asked Nautilus to fix this problem. All Nautilus would do is send us parts but not the special crank puller that is needed to remove the shrouds. Here is a quote from Nautilus' customer service.
"Thank you for contacting Nautilus Customer Care. In response to your question, there is a special took called a crank puller that allows you to get the crank arms off allowing the damaged shrouds to be take off and the new shrouds to be replaced. This tool can be purchased directly from us by calling the number below." I then asked Nautilus if they expected me to pay to have this brand new defective bike fixed... Nautilus said "You are correct, you will need to install the replacement shrouds yourself. In case you are looking for a tech to come out and install for you I have provided a few contacts for you below. Please know that this will be at your expense" and that "We have fulfilled the warranty by sending you replacement parts to fix the bike you purchased from Amazon." So.. you be the judge.. Do you want to buy a product from them?

73 years young and still on a schwinn,
This review is from: Schwinn 130 Upright Exercise Bike (Sports)
I had my first schwinn when I was 7 0r 8 years old and got a lot of good use from it. I as recently as 5 years ago was riding up to 5000 miles a year on a regular bike. I then bought a highly recommended indoor recumbent bike that never felt right and really was not worth much of anything. I have had this schwinn 130 upright bike for about 3 weeks now and have put more than 300 miles on it with no problems whatsoever. It is very solid along with a good road feel. It is so super quiet that my wife lets me ride it in our living room. It has many adjustments and that is a plus as all of us have our own confort level on a bike. This is important if you are going to ride a lot. This bike is a steal at Amazon for less than $400 delivered! Ron from West Linn, Oregon
