Unlike cheaper & inferior road bikes sold through discount stores & many also sold on Amazon.com - this is a REAL Schwinn as sold in REAL bicycle shops. Spend the extra bucks for one with quality. So what if it's a 2009? 2011 models comparable are going for about $650-$700. Stay far, far away from Schwinn's lower grade of road bikes - like the Schwinn Men's Prelude Bicycle (BBWhite) or worse. The GMC Denali Road Bike. Junk.This bike has a real Shimano "freehub" and cassette - not a simple freewheel hub. Much stronger & longer lasting. Cheaper bikes will result in spokes popping on the rear wheel in about a year or less. This bike has better Kenda tires, better rims (wheels) - better everything. Is it a great road bike? Nope. Is it a good "entry level" road bike? Yep. If you're reading this for the large size frame...I got the last one. You snooze - you lose. |
