Love this product,

I was really surprised to see the bad reviews for this product. I have owned this light for over 2 years now and it always serves me well. It is by far one of the brightest out there and the battery life is decent (about 3 months of using it twice a week). It is also very small and has a small profile on my bike, very sleek. Overall Great Value!

Maybe I got a faulty light...,

I bought this light at Walmart (maybe that was my first mistake), and perhaps I got a bad one, but it is the lamest light I've ever seen. I'm not being sarcastic when I say that my cell phone's screen gives off more light that it. I even stood in my tiny bathroom with the lights off, and I couldn't see the far wall. I would really advise against getting this light unless you have a way to return in, just in case you find it's not quite what you expected.

Sucks battery juice at amazing speed,

When it works, it's great. But my batteries have only lasted one week, tops, on average. Even with very fresh batteries! Disappointing, even if I got it at Wal-Mart for $15. Get another light.

This little light of mine doesn't wanna shine :-(,

Last fall, I bought a PTI Schwinn 3 LED Torch Light for the bike that I ride to and from work every day, because I wanted to avoid getting run over while riding home in the dark.Even with fresh batteries, I could never tell if it was going to die on me during my short 1.25 mile ride. Then there were the times when it would refuse to light up at all and I had no choice but to ride home in the dark. If it weren't for the cheap little red light on my backpack, I would have been completely invisible to any motorists. Yesterday evening (as I was about to go home from work, of course!), my Schwinn Torch Light died on me for good and will not light up again. I will not be replacing it with another one. I'm not saying to avoid Schwinn products, since they make plenty of reliable items, but this particular light is not one of their best.

Decent blinkie. Lousy headlight,

The Schwinn 3 LED light is a good blinkie for helping others see you on the road. Just don't expect this little light to light up your path. It does suffice as a flashlight should you need to use it for low light condition bike repairs or camping.

Like this light very much. Small size doesn't take up a lot of room on your handle bars and super brightness.

Decent Little Light,

I got a light so I could be seen on side streets at night. The light is bright enough for riding around in town. I live in Houston with lots of esplenades and lots of street lighting. I can almost see bikes without lights at all hours of the evening. Having that extra bit of light does help. Cars see me, which is what I need. This light is definietly not a good choice for trail riding or commuting down dark roads (but then again nothing in this price range is). I haven't had issues with batteries. I use standard duracell or energizer (stay away from generics .. you get what you pay for). As for total light output, it is comparable to a mini-mag (2xAA). Unlike the mag-light, it provides for more light output around the perrifery meaning you don't have to be straight on to see it. The light is well focused and hasn't given me any glare issues with my glasses.

Brighter than More Expensive Lights,

I bought a Cate Eye 4 LED for $40 bucks, and I was going to bite the bullet and get a second for more light. The bike shop owner was out of them, so he sold me the Schwinn for $10. It is literally four times the brightness as the Cat Eye. Have not noticed the battery suckage issue mentioned in another review here. I guess I'll buy 8 packs of AAA batteries at the dollar store.

cool,
This review is from: Schwinn 3 LED Torch Bicycle Light (Sports)
What people dont understand about these lights is that they are not used to light your path. They are purely so cars can see you. I have one and it has never failed. There are reviews of the light quitting.... perhaps your left on upon getting home or you are using sub-par batteries? I have read a review and will agree that this light WILL shine into your own eyes while riding decreasing visibility. A piece of tape electrical tape wrapped around the bezel will solve that but it is a design flaw. DO NOT buy one for $20. The price may be right below or around $10 - or look for something else.

Bought my first one at Wal-Mart for $8.88. The light was great and went back to buy another for a friend, but they were sold out. Bought Three more here at Amazon for $9 with free shipping and no tax. Have used these lights for over a year. Three LED's are Bright, is also easily detached to use as flashlight. When the price drops down again to $9 I will buy three more. I use rechargable batteries and they last about 8-10 hours of use before needing recharge. That is about 6 evenings of bike rides when we start an hour or more before sundown. Thanks Amazon and Bell for a good deal. You can compare this light with any of those $20 - $28 lights anyday!
