Decent beginner bike,
By
This review is from: Schwinn Laguna Sport Road Bike (Sports)
Overall not a bad bike, it doesn't weigh a brick ton, has decent components, and was easy to assemble. A basic working knowledge of bikes is essential to getting the most out of this bike, the brakes need a little fine tuning ( depending on your preferences for how sensitive the brakes are,) but the dérailleurs were set up pretty well. The saddle is pretty uncomforable for how much it weighs, but there are plenty of aftermarket saddles available. The only required upgrade (IMHO) is some clipless pedals. They are way lighter and offer better performance. The bike isn't the best handling bike, but it does ride pretty well, and does whatever I ask of it. It isn't the quickest, but for the money I would probably buy another one.

This is not a department store Schwinn bike. This is a bike shop quality bike.,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Schwinn Laguna Sport Road Bike (Sports)
Purchased this from Amazon for less than $300 with tax and shipping. This is not much more than the price of department store bikes. The components are a good entry to mid level quality. The assembly was fairly easy. The assembly and fine tuning everything (except gearing) took about 45 minutes. You will need the adapter for the small valve stems before you ride, it is not the standard size and the tires come with no air. For the average price of a department store bike (~ $200) you don't get much. For $100 more on this bike you get a better frame, double wall rims, better components, you get an entry level bike shop quality bike. I give this 5 stars due to the quality you get for the price. I test rode Scott, Specialized, and Trek before I bought this. They were $600 to $720 for entry level and slightly better bikes, but not that much better. Mine required fine tuning the dérailleurs. If you are unable to so, $30 to $50 at your local bike shop should get it. You will then have a smooth riding machine. The shifters on this bike are integrated into the brakes and cost about $100 if purchased separately. You push the brake lever sideways to shift one way and a thumb button shifts the other way. This decreases clutter and is more ergonomic.
I am 5'6" with a 30" inseam. The medium is perhaps 1 to 2 cm too tall, however, I am quite comfortable during riding. A better seat will be coming soon for me, this is the main problem with the bike. I have ridden the bike about 14 miles so far and have had no problems with it. Had I paid $600-700, I would give the bike a 4 star rating. By the way, it weighs about 25 lbs. Buy it and enjoy it.

Bike for Best Value,
By
This review is from: Schwinn Laguna Sport Road Bike (Sports)
In my opinion this is the best value for a road/sport bike. The light weight, the Shimano gear system, and overall quality are outstanding and have provided impressive performance. The assembly was very easy although basic knowledge is required due to limited instructions. Gears and breaks are already hooked up. The assembly only consisted of putting on the handlebars, front tire, seat, pedals, and adjusting the breaks.
