Wide range of gears and tough tires, August 12, 2009
This review is from: Schwinn LeTour GSX Adult Road Bike (Sports)
I've had this bike for 2 years. It is good for the road, but also tough. I'd call this a Unisex bike as it is OK for a woman with longer arms.
The gears are OK and the brakes have levers to flip when removing the quick release wheels. The range of gears is very good - with 52 cogs on the big front gear wheel - so it's got power - but it's also got low gears for going up hills. I particularly like the two-position brakes as if you are doing a long ride you can change positions. So this is a good bike for hilly charity rides.
There are two sets of lugs for water bottle, pump, etc.
It's not the lightest bike - but good value.
A downfall for a touring bike is there are no lugs for a rear bike rack - so I put one on the saddle stem - but the screw rubs my leg sometimes if I'm not careful.
I swapped the saddle for one with a slit in it - it's not a bad saddle, but a bit hard. I also took the straps off the pedals and swapped them with some on another bike.
